The Reveal of "Shotgun" & "Night Club" Iron Man Armors in 1/12 scale by Play Imaginative (for "Become Iron Man" @ Bugis Junction)
And while I had covered the launch of the "Become Iron Man" promotional event/exhibition @ Bugis Junction, Singapore - where we get to see 1/4-scaled "Super Alloy" figurines making their display debut from Play Imaginative - today saw the reveal of their 1/12th-scaled line-up of "Super Alloy", with two new Armors never truly seen in any forms of media thus far! Introducing the SHOTGUN and NIGHT CLUB Iron Man armored suits, as seen in "Iron Man 3" feature film!

On display alongside "Mark 42", "War Machine" and "Iron Patriot" (all of whom were earlier "revealed" via online images) - stay tuned while I go watch the movie and update you folks on where these armors could be spotted in the film!
While the prototypes on display are not the final figures and neither are they diecast (but painted plastic prototypes, shown here for display purposes), I am told that they will be articulated and come housed in a box with cut-out foam for the figures. Release is scheduled within this year, so keep bugging your fav retailers for availability details! Without any hyperbole, I am to have at least a couple for my own collection! Can you guess which? ;p

Here, Julie Newmar, Julie Newmar figure
Action Figure Insider has revealed the painted prototype for Mattel's upcoming "Classic TV series Batman" Julie Newmar Catwoman. While the final product will feature far more joints, this prototype gives fans at least some idea as to the sculpt and paint.
Given the level of detail on the sculpt in places, I somewhat wonder how the rest of the jointing will be implemented without sacrificing some of the appearance. I suspect that Newmar will feature a torso joint rather than an ab crunch and waist cut although it's entirely possibly we may see a waist cut only (in fact, it looks like the waist cut may already have been implemented). Otherwise, I have mixed feelings since the proportions strike me as being a little odd. That said, there's a solid level of detail in most areas even if the combination may not look as pleasing.
Mattel's Julie Newmar Catwoman is due out later this year and should release around the same time as the Cesar Romero Joker. A full image is available in the gallery.

Nickelodeon Still Makes Cartoons?
Nickelodeon was the shit from the 80’s through to the early 2000’s. Somewhere along the line they lost their touch and basically turned into a Disney Channel clone with more tween-centric sitcoms a-la iCarly.
Enter their newest original cartoon show: Sanjay and Craig.
It’s that whole “best buds for life” type of show that we’ve all grown up with and seen blajillions of times; Ren & Stimpy, Arnold & Gerrald, Doug & Skeeter, Norbert & Dagget, Rocco & Heffer, and even newer best buds like Regular Show’s Mordecai & Rigby and Adventure Time’s Finn & Jake.
But what makes Sanjay and Craig a little more interesting is the people behind it. There’s Chris Hardwick, who most of you should already familiar with on some level, Maulik Panchaloy a.k.a. Sanjay from Weeds, Linda Cardellini from Freaks & Geeks, Grandma’s Boy, and she’s currently boning Don Draper on the sixth season of Mad Men, Matt Jones a.k.a. Badger from Breaking Bad, Tony Hale from Arrested Development, Kunal Nayyar a.k.a. Rajesh from Big Bang Theory, and Grey DeLisle who has voiced a buttload of characters such as Daphne in Scooby-Doo, Vicky in Fairly Odd Parents, Mandy in The Grim Adventures of BIlly & Mandy, and voices for various video games including the Tomb Raider series..
And that’s just the voice talent!
The series itself was created by Andreas Trolf, Jim Dirschberger, and Jay Howell who went from working at a cafe while making art for punk rock zines and showing his work at local galleries on the side to creating the characters for Bob’s Burgers and doing animations for Vans.
While there’s nothing about Sanjay and Craig from the clips released so far that piques my interest as much as, say, current best bro cartoon titans Regular Show and Adventure Time, it should be interesting to see how much success a kids cartoon will gain considering all the crazy talented people involved.
Sanjay and Craig debuts on Nickelodeon onMay 25, 2013 and will air Saturdays at 10:30am (ET/PT).

Clutter rounds up the Toy Mafia this Saturday
The folks at Clutter are organizing something for designer toy fans called Toy Mafia, which is supposed to be a monthly meet-up/party for collectors that might also just include some exclusive designer toy releases, too. The first two exclusives will be variants of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore's Doji San (21 pieces, US$100) and Cop a Squat Toys' Semi Korosiya. There's a promise of more "mystery releases", and a Toy Mafia T-shirt will be available for US$24.99.
The Toy Mafia's first meet-up is taking place at Concrete (320 W. 37th St., Midtown Manhattan, New York City, N.Y.; between 8th and 9th avenues, but closer to 8th). Conveniently enough, Penn Station is the closest stop to Concrete, which should make it a little easier to get there if you live in Jersey, too.
Since the Toy Mafia thing is an "organized international body" ... does that mean we'll see events in other cities further from Clutter's offices? Guess we'll have to see.

Tomopop Review: Kotobukiya's Tekken Bishoujo Jaycee
Tekken seems to have returned to its status as Namco's flagship fighting game series with several new titles having come out in the last few years. One such title is Tekken Tag Tournament 2, which is where Jaycee comes from.
"Jaycee" is the alias of Julia Chang, a Tekken regular who dons a lucha libre-style costume for TTT2 (the reason being... because she could). Kotobukiya recently sent me a sample of their Bishoujo version, which I've just finished examining.
