I'm not normally a big Munny guy, but every so often something comes down the pipe which makes me really want it. This time it's this fantastic custom of of one of Marvel's most iconic villains, as crafted by Kwietone.
The sculpt itself is great, really cleverly working Doom's iconic mask and cape combo into the Munny form, but for me it's the paintjob that really raises this up to the next level. I love the decision to go for a brighter green with a lot more pop, and the exquisite texturing work really sells the more grimy, street look that Kwietone seems to be going for. The graffiti style 'DOOM' on the hood (complete with Fantastic 4 stamp underneath) is the perfect finishing touch. Kwietone mentions that he's returning to the custom toy scene after a while away. Let's hope he sticks around and produces more stuff like as good as this.

Last month in March we got our first look at FuRyu's new pair of prize figures based on the new anime the "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat currently streaming on Crunchyroll. New images have arrived showing off the duo in much more detail. I've had some misgivings about FuRyu's quality in the past, but I think they've really done a great job with these two.
Prize A is Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, the expressionless girl who had her emotions taken away by the Stony Cat. She's suspended on a crescent moon stand making a cute cat pose. Prize B is Azusa Azuki, a girl that gained an unnatural facade for her true feelings from the Stony Cat. She's making a similar cat pose while jumping over colorful stars. The poses are based in part on official art for the series.
Both figures are available separately, but feature an interconnecting base to display them together. Unfortunately these appear to be lottery figures rather than game prizes so they'll be a little harder to obtain. The anime is turning out to be really good, one of those shows that seem to run a lot deeper than they appear on the surface so I'm really considering grabbing the pair for myself. They look like they might just be worth the effort!

Super 7 is giving Alien fans something they never would have seen: lost action figures from the original movie that started it all. Prototypes for 3 3/4-inch action figures were developed in 1979, but for some reason they were never manufactured. 34 years later, Super 7 has obtained reference material and those original prototypes, and will now finally release these figures for the general public.
With the authorization from 20th Century Fox, these figures from Alien will look exactly as they originally were intended to look like as part of Super 7's ReAction Figure Series. Included in this series will be the Alien, Ripley, Ash, Dallas, and Kane. The Alien will have a removable transparent dome with extendable jaws and a glow-in-the-dark head.
Ripley will come with a flame thrower, Ash will have a motion detector, Dallas will also have a flame thrower, and Kane will come in a Nostromo Spacesuit with a removable helmet and a transparent visor. Each figure will also have five points of articulation, and a period-authentic blister card packaging. The ReAction Figure series will be available in August/September with each figure costing US$19.99. Pre-orders will begin at San Diego Comic Con.
While you wait for these figures to be released, you can enjoy a refreshing drink in June with an Alien collectible pint glass set. Each glass features a memorable scene from the movie on the front with the four-part life cycle of the Xenomorph on the back. Each front scene was created just for this glass set and will show the Space Jockey, the Alien, Kane's Chestburster, and Ripley and the Airlock. Each glass holds 16 ounces and is over 5 inches tall. Available in June, this set will be US$49.99.

Fresh in Zukaty's store right this moment is a series of custom Jon-Paul Kaiser Apocalypse Dunnys. Featuring the Angel of Death design, these have been given a gunmetal coating to make them shiny, along with some other small detailing work. What's nice is even though this is a paint job, a lot of JPK's original work shines through here. The gunmetal color is also a pretty good choice for the armor.
If you want one, they're US$75 each plus shipping, and there's three in total that have been done. As of this post, there's still at least one in stock, but if you don't pick one up soon ... you might have to wait until the end of the world for one. (Or you can just commission Zukaty ... that might be easier.)
