I kid you not, I walked past Sebastien Millon's corner booth at WonderCon and was literally stopped in my tracks at the sight of his merchandise. I am not sure which caught my eye first: the herd of adorable plush bears of varying sizes and colors or the witty cartoons printed on the shirts. Actually, who am I kidding? It was the plushes. It turns out the bears were actually characters of his, as were the kitty, duck, and rabbit found on the pendants and some of the prints. There is a Papa, Mama, and a Baby bear; you can tell them apart by the color of their fur. Each plush is handmade by a friend of Sebastien. There is even a panda plush in the works. How exciting!

Sebastien's art, which I mentioned earlier, was not only found on shirts but also on prints. I actually spotted a shirt at the booth which I had previously seen a person wearing in my neighborhood! I love the dry humor in the drawings' subtitles and the drawings themselves are simple, clean, and cute.

If you missed him at WonderCon, you can buy some of Sebastien's goods over at his Etsy shop

Artist, Jerome Lu, was in attendance at the Hyperactive Monkey booth during WonderCon. He had a con-exclusive glow-in-the-dark Monkey Bank (US$80), as well as limited amounts of his SDCC 2012 exclusive Ebony Edition Master Bank which were available for US$70. There were some new art prints of the seasons, and monkeys, that were showcased, along with new prints that were done in a traditional Japanese printing style.

The main decor of the booth had a wooden statue of a luchador monkey that was hand-stained and painted. It was also for sale, for those who may be interested. I really like the hand-painted Monkey Wood Blocks, but I totally wish they had the Naughty Ninja! and Kung Fu Cutey! shirts in adult sizes as well, instead of just the toddler shirts that they had available. So cute! Check out the Hyperactive Monkey Store to get your hands on the exclusive pieces that they had left over.

untitledToday  I will be  reviewing the Marvel Knight Animation of INHUMANS. Before I begin I’ll give a brief background on what you’re in for animation wise. So with all of the versions of Haganai's Yozora out there, you've got to try something new to stand out. In the case of Griffon's upcoming version, you'll get Yozora as "evil personified", taking the form of quite a naughty demon complete with some wicked looking horns.

While the pair on her head are removable, you won't have such luck when it comes to the rest of her outfit. I certainly think it's an extremely appealing design for the most part, from the overall look to the skull choker tying it together, but those other spikes are a little much. Placed in certain "strategic" locations, they add a "look but don't touch" feel.

I can't say I'm behind their addition and I certainly wish they were removable in some way. You're stuck with them though, so keep your hands safe when picking her up in May for around ¥8,400.

    DUNNY_INA_FRAME_WUZONE_02

Wuz One shares with us images of his latest work: 3" Dunny in a Frame (which has since been sold out) - featuring an original 3" Dunny 100% hand painted using spray paint, acrylics, markers and matt varnish, and mounted on a frame (6.8" x 4.8" / 17.5 x 12.4 cm. Model Ribba of Ikea).

Another series of pieces with a similar concept (also since sold out) was the "Taxidunny: Series One" from M.Clancey - which featured 3 Dunny heads all masked in different animal skulls (parrot, beaver, steer) and mounted on a stained wooden plaque. Does two customs constitute a "trend"? Nevertheless, I like this new "trend" of "displaying" toys ala lifestyle products ~ LOL

Just in time for season 2 of the series Pre-orders are now available for CM Corporation’s latest figure of Kuko from Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos.

This Kuko is unique with her on fire battle look from the series. I never guessed they would make her into a figurine like this but I have to say that I like it. All the fire effect pieces and bright red paint splotched on work well. If put in a well lit room I think that she could be a hot addition to any collector’s micro museum. There is something about her look that just screams anime styling to me. Twin tails? Yep, crazy spell effects? Got it. Spray on clothing? Okay, now we are set!

Of course Kuko is pretty showy, yet I have to admire the sculptor for keeping this figurine pg-13 by sculpting her exactly the way the original anime had shown her and not displaying anything too explicit. While she is too showy for my own shelf, I can't help to admire how hot her concept is and how well CM Corporation sculpted her.

Kuko carries a suggested retail price of ¥9,500. Fans of her won't have to wait long; she'll ship out in late June of this year.
