It may only be March, but the "scientific girl" series Vividred Operation is almost certainly my pick of the year, the sort of fun, over the top type of show that reminds me of Nanoha and has just got that quintessential anime "feel." I'll certainly be keeping watch for any products from the show, so these new scans of the upcoming figma caught my eye in a second.
We've seen lead heroine Akane and her companion of sorts Rei previously, but now we've got a look at a few new poses along with the fact that Akane apparently comes equipped with her trademark flying bike. Rei's scarf remains in the way however, so it's anyone's guess whether or not her feather tattoo is still in place. I can't imagine it would be left out, though.
It's an almost sure bet that we're going to see Vivid versions of the characters before long, but if you're looking for a more mundane look then you'll certainly want to pick these up! Besides, who can say no to that oh-so-unique school uniform? On top of these new looks, release dates are now available as well. You'll be able to pick up Akane in August, while Rei will fire her bow a month later in September. I'll certainly be eagerly awaiting the rest of the cast!

Last week, we revealed teaser photos of Flat Bonnie's WonderCon exclusive plushes. I am pleased to say that we now not only have more information on both Shelbun (seen in the header) and Woolly Mammoth, but better pictures as well. The 12 inch Shelbun, in an edition size of 20 pieces, will cost US$25 each. He is just too darling for words, don't you think? The 13 inch Woolly Mammoth, limited to 10 pieces, retails for US$60. This plush is made with synthetic fur and vinyl pleather. These two designs will come with a numbered sewn-in tag along with a specially designed WonderCon hangtag!
All of Flat Bonnie's plushes are handmade with love and care. Even if you can't make it out to WonderCon, you can check out Flat Bonnie's other plushes at her online shop.

Way back at San Diego Comic Con 2012, we got a quick glimpse at Nathan Hamill's Kammu figure, and since then, there's been several different versions cast in different metals. The latest edition releases today, Gunmetal Kammu. Like the other Kammus, this one is 3.25 inches tall and cast in metal, which in this case is gunmetal.
You can get the heavy little fellow starting at 3 p.m. Eastern (Noon Pacific, 7 p.m. GMT) at 3DRetro for US$75. There will be 30 of them available for purchase in total, and I still personally fancy the design. It's kind of got an ancient relic feel to it.
If you’ve been having trouble finding the Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment series, Entertainment Earth has full cases in case you want to go that way or split a case with someone … A sampling of the series (not in each case – check out the case assortment at the bottom of each case assortment below) [...]
It’s amazing how fate, serendipity, the universe, god, the goddess, or maybe that great big turtle in the sky can turn things around in the blink of an eye. Yesterday was one of those days where so many things felt right in the world: friends were connecting, Birdie was singing, new projects were flowing in, [...]
Following the announcement of fliming in Detroit Michigan we have news the Transformers 4 production are scouting locations around the General Motors Tool Center in Grand Blanc Township as reported by MLive, com. So far nothing has been confirmed but word is Bay is looking for places he work with out disruption from normal plant operations. Keep it dialed to Tformers for all the Transformers 4 movie news as it happens.
Hot Toys releases images of their first figure from their MMS DIECAST SERIES, featuring the Iron patriot" from the movie "Iron Man 3"! In 1/6-scale, featuring a headsculpt of Don Cheadle (which I hope is not diecast metal, because that would be weird), metallic red, white and blue star spangled armor (hella rocking'), light-up functions and rotatable machine gun. Why it took so long for "Iron Man" to be made in diecast metal, is beyond me! LOL
Price? Now that's the hot ticket, innit? I've read from "unconfirmed sources" (aka friend-collectors lol) it's pegged at around $300, biut will update this once a fixed price is available (aka waiting on for Sideshow's listings lol). Do check with your fav retailers for availability tho!

The official Takara Tomy Transformers site has posted official images of the new Transformers Go! action figures. The Beast Hunters line for Japan. Confirmed are be redecos of the Hasbro figures like Shockwave that is a darker blue with black beast-plates. Also Starscream and Soundwave have more G1 like colors than the figures we have seen from Hasbro. Check out the images for G11 Optimus Prime, G12 Dragotron (Predaking), G13 Shockwave, G14 Bumblebee, G15 Bulkhead, G16 Wheeljack, G17 Starscream, and G18 Soundwave below.
Balin and Dwalin, sons of Fundin are probably two of the most easily identifiable members in the Company of Dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield. In the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey they are the first two dwarves that show up at Bilbo’s door, and manufacturer The Bridge Direct wisely decided to offer them together in a 2-pack, although I am pretty sure that each would have sold well individually.
The official Takara Tomy Transformers site has posted official images of the new Transformers Generations Autobot and Decepticon Data Disc action figure sets. Shown are the images of the TG17 Autobot Data Discs set that includes a facsimile Rhinohorn and Sundor action figures. Additionally the TG16 Decepticon Data Discs set includes versions of Ratbat and Ravage action figures. Get a look at all of the Transformers Generations Autobot and Decepticon Data Discs below.
Funko's putting that DC Comics license to use again, this time with a new Mystery Minis set based on the DC universe, specifically Batman. The blind-boxed series of 2.5-inch figures will include a total of 8 different characters. Three are heroes: Batman in both comic and Nolanverse versions, as well as Batgirl, each with 3 different poses. The other 5 figures are, of course, the villains: comic and Nolanverse Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, and Scarecroodle-favorite Penguin. Each villain will have 1-3 different poses (Riddler only gets 1, and that sucks), giving us 20 different figures for the series.
The mini-figures are releasing on April 24, so you have about a month to decide if you like any of the designs. It's interesting to see they included both the movie and comic designs for some of the character (notably, the comic and Heath Ledger Jokers), so I'm wondering if perhaps we won't see a comic/movie Bane duo in a sercond series. More likely than not, I'd expect a Superman series next, given that Man of Steel is on the horizon.

Funko's "Mystery Mini Blind Box Figures" has a new series coming out April 24th, and they are titled "DC Comics Mystery Minis" - featuring the Batman family of characters - from both Classic DC and Movie DC. Am pretty liking the figures I see here - looking much like they've been "Disney-fied" LOL - IMHO, anyways ... Hope to be able to get a crack at scoring some of these tho … These sized 2.5" Mystery Minis include:
- 3 Superheroes (Batman, Dark Knight Batman, Bat Girl)
- 3 Valiant Poses
- 5 Super Villains (Joker, DK Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman)
- 1-3 Menacing Poses
- 24 piece Counter Display.
Sergio Mancini (www.redmutuca.com) shares with us his custom on an 8-inch tall Dunny, of his "Project: Dunny" 3-inch figure (one of my favs from the 'Dunny 2012' series!). Made for the Red Mutuca booth at the coming April 6th ToyCon UK, the piece features an additional compass and triangle, and is made from acrylic paints, sculpey, and gloss varnish. And oh yes, this sweetness is unfortunately Not For Sale, and is just for exhibition purposes only! *GASP*

Tarantino Films Imagined as Penguin Books
You guys remember how those old Penguin books used to look? Artist Sharm Murugiah does, as he used that style to merge Quentin Tarantino films into those books, with these super clean mock-book covers. Love the idea.
