Peep a new preview of Lechery's upcoming Tamaki
Any regular reader should know by now that it doesn't take much to get me excited over a new Tamaki figure. Even so, I'm inordinately excited for this upcoming cutie from Lechery that we first glimpsed at WonFest last month. I've also expressed my love of Lechery's works and certainly think they're one of the hottest smaller producers out there, so to know they're putting their craft to good use with a Tamaki figure is some news I certainly never expected!
She looks absolutely gorgeous too, with some lovely rich, dark coloring that always suits her. Even the desk is a nice darker wood, complementing the overall feel of the figure. It also seems planned that an optional battery will allow the lamp to turn on, which seems to be a recurring theme with Lechery lately--odd, but a nice touch!
Of course while the whole scene ties together nicely, Tamaki is the stand-out star. Lechery's added a touch of their own trademark original style while still retaining her unmistakable look, and, of course, I love them for the fact they kept her oft-exaggerated curves realistically under control. Certainly one of my favorite Tamaki figures in a long while, you can bet we'll be keeping an eye out for ordering news as soon as it's available!

FoxBox Studio shows off their Dragon Age II custom
The FoxBox Studio crew have just passed along a custom they've finished up: a custom figure of Dragon Age II's Hawke in the Ser Isaac of Clarke armor. They've noted that they're fans of both the Dead Space and Dragon Age franchises in the Facebook album for the figure's photos, which makes this a logical figure to make. The 1/6-scale creation packs a ton of detail into the steel armor, especially the head piece, and it's even more impressive because I doubt they had the original files from the game to work with.
Before you ask: no, it is not for sale. It's a one-off custom that they take to shows and events for display, but it makes me wonder if they could be planning some other customs in the future. I certainly hope that's the case; what about you, and what would you like to see FoxBox customize next?

Original Drakengard team returning for follow-up to cult classic
Exciting news: Drakengard 3 has been announced and the team behind the amazing original is returning. Famitsu’s announcement came out of left field, but I’ll happily embrace it.
The original Drakengard was a cult-hit on PS2. The game involved a soldier making a pact with a dragon and as a result they are both forever connected. They are soon hunted down by a crazy empire but receive help from numerous other memorable characters who have also made pacts with mythical beasts.
Drakengard stands out for not only a great story, but also great gameplay. The game placed the player in a wide open field and sent waves of soldiers after them. From the perspective of the main character, the game played a lot like Dynasty Warriors. However, if you became overwhelmed, you could call upon your dragon (or in the later missions when you get some of the other characters like the child who made a pact with a giant golem) and fly around the field reigning fire down on everyone. On top of that, there were a number of sky battles where you controlled the dragon in aerial dog fights.
The game deserves a wider audience. Here’s hoping that if Drakengard 3 does well, that an HD collection may be on its way. I’m also left wondering if the batshit insane endings (spoilers in the video) from Drakengard may be returning.
Drakengard 3 will be releasing for PS3.
