Toy Fair 2013: Kidrobot
In September 2011, I reviewed the Street Fighter blind-boxed series from Kidrobot and found them to be ... eh, okay. Nothing too terrible, but since the first figures came out in 2011, things have been quiet, and I figured Kidrobot wouldn't be making more mini-figures of the fighters I love.
I was wrong. Terribly wrong. Street Fighter blind-boxed figures are back, with new sculpts including Cammy, Akuma, Charlie, Fei Long, Gen and Gouki. There's also a new 2-figure pack on the horizon, featuring one blind-boxed figure and one figure open-boxed. Excuse me while I just HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG a little bit here.
Beyond that, there's some shots of the upcoming Post Apocalypse 3-inch Dunny Series by Huck Gee (Feb. 28 release, US$9.95) featuring a number of his classic designs; the new Major Lazer Kidrobot figure (Feb. 19 release, US$50); a new Monger Labbit piece coming in May, as reported by SpankyStokes and Toy Viking; and a new license that I'm not sure we can discuss yet, and that we don't want to accidentally leak out. I'll agree with Toy Viking's thoughts on this being a bit of a big deal, though, and I suspect we'll hear more at San Diego Comic Con.
