Integrity Toys' New Dolls

0
0
On Saturday, January 26. 2013 members of the W Club were invited to a webinar during which new dolls were described and shown.
Not all of IT's doll lines were included in this reveal. The most popular appears to be the new Funny Face collection designed by Chris Stoeckel. These dolls and fashions are based on the 1957 movie by the same name that stars Audrey Hepburn and  Fred Astaire. In a brilliant move, the designers decided to give each doll in the new line a different sculpt. And, instead of having a bunch of single dressed Poppy Parker-faced dolls, several of the dolls are mini-giftsets and full giftsets. The focus is on the fashion and although none of the designs is original, Stoeckl has interpreted them very nicely.

Here are several of the images with which we were presented.
Jo Stockton "Take the Picture"

Maggie Prescott's Assistant "Think Pink"
Dovima as Marion "A Woman Who Thinks"
Jo Stockton "On How To Be Lovely"
Jo Stockton "Bonjour Paris"
Maggie Prescott "The Quality Woman"

There is a lottery for another gift set. This one is called "Let's Kiss and Make Up." It looks like a fabulous gift set consisting of three complete outfits and lots of accessories. Also included is a little dog. It's not a poodle but we'll over look that fact.

I need this giftset and will be very disappointed if I am not amongst the lottery entrants who is picked. VERY disappointed.

Another reveal was this year's Dynamite Girls designed by David Buttry. Entitled "London Calling,"  the collection consists of 7 dolls each priced at $65.  I didn't care for any of the four girls; their outfits are pedestrian. But, the two male dolls are fabulous. The layering, attention to detail and edgy styling is clear in the guys and missing from the girls.

Integrity's 16" doll line has morphed into Tulabelle. The backstory sounds like a fantasy from Cosmo magazine. Here's the promo text from Integrity Toys:

Every once in a while, you meet a character that is so special and unique that you can't forget her. That's Tulabelle! She's a young influential fashion blogger and the go-to expert for the latest in trends for young fashionistas around the world. Tulabelle comes from a long line of fashion insiders and has inherited her family's extensive archive of clothing from the beginning of the 20th century to today. The highlight of the collection consists of some amazing pieces from her famous model grandmother, Poppy Parker! Whether she's hanging out with friends at her favorite thrift store or sitting front row at the hottest runway show, Tulabelle is always at the forefront of style.

There are 6 dressed dolls in the collection, one of which is a "basic" priced at $115. The others are priced at $150.
I have previously written that I prefer sophisticated looking doll sculpts more than the teen look. I think it's sad that the giant Poppy dolls and these gals have replaced the Avantguard line. They could have kept the sculpts and used the improved body. As a collector who spans both the 16" and 12" groups, I know many who loved the AG sculpts and would buy them again. But I believe IT caters to it's post-Barbie collectors who tend to prefer more youthful looks.
That being said, I did like one of the Tulabelles very much...enough to pre-order her!

Calling this doll "Yeti to Wear" — dorky — but I like the fashion. Hopefully the bangs come out flat enough to stay on her forehead. I'm curious about the body as I've not seen it yet. I don't think her fashion will fit any of my 16" dolls but we'll see.

The other new dolls revealed are three Holograms from the Jem and the Holograms line.
Since I am not one of the former television watchers of this cartoon, I have no connection there. To me they look trashy. IMO, there is no fashion, just costume, all for $119. each. Lest I forget, you get a detailed plastic guitar.

Integrity Toys 1st on-line presentation 2013 - Jem & The Holograms

0

Last Saturday, Integrity Toys hosted their first on-line presentation for the W-Club members. Carol Roth began the seminar with an introduction. Four distinct lines of dolls were presented in it, catering to a wide variety of collectors. One of them was this year's first wave of Jem & The Holograms dolls, the Hasbro collaboration that has proven so popular even for collectors not familiar with Integrity up to now. This time it is the three Hologram ladies that are available, since Jem could not continue to be long without her group.  Dear Alain Trembley made a general presentation of the characters and then designer Vaughn Sawyers took over for each doll with Carol commenting. Let's see them one by one.

I think they nailed the girls down pat - from what  Iremember of the cartoon. They are so detailed and very close to the original characters. This should make the collectors very very happy. And of course, here is a photo of the group with their leader Jem (which was released last year):

Please note that dolls are all sold separately and the Classic Jem doll is not available in the Wave 2 collection.

For adult collectors 14 and up only. Please note that the photos are of prototype dolls and subject to changes and modifications. Integrity Toys 1st on-line presentation 2013 - Dynamite Girls

0
0
The Dynamite Girls collection was the first one presented in the on-line event. This time the inspiration is a trip to London, so the collection is named "London Calling. This brings to mind last year's Poppy Parker trip to London, but this one has a thoroughly modern vibe - with some 80's undertones. David Buttry proudly presented each doll and discussed them with Carol Roth. He said the fashions are street-inspired and wintry.

Item #66084
Holland™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 800 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

The girls and guys presented are totally different from last year. First of all there is a new character (ergo new sculpt), Holland.  The doll is wearing a grey and green wool and faux leather jacket, an orange and pink jacquard jumper dress, orange turtle-neck  pink tights and boots with faux fur trim. She's not my style (Dynamite Girls rarely, if ever, are) but her face looks interesting.

Item #66085
Cruz™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 800 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

Guys are always a hit with the crowd, even someone like me who does not collect this line. This time it is Cruz that takes the spotlight in a lime shirt with navy collar and cuffs, orange striped sweater vest, and royal blue suit jacket and trousers. His accessories include a gray knit scarf and gray and blue spectator shoes. I really wanted this one but had to leave him out due to the amount of dolls I got from another line. Plus even though I like the overall impression, the "suit"look in this colour is not to my liking. I;d much rather have a totally different jacket (plaid?) or parka on top. The shoes are to die for. I think he is sold out.

Item #66086
Dani™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 800 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

Dani is back in a black shirt, white lace sweater, hot pink jacket and green jacquard Capri pants. Her look is completed with black patent booties. She is the prettiest face of the bunch and I love her contrasting colours.

Item #66087
Kyu™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 800 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

The second guy of the bunch is Kyu. His ensemble consists of a long sleeved red shirt, gold knit sweater, and blue jeans with patch details on the knees. To top it off he's wearing a parka in green with faux fur trim on the hood. I love everything about him but his patched jeans. You can find his sweater in H&M in a brighter yellow.

Item #66088
TJ™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 600 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

TJ reminds me of Neve - are they the same sculpt? She wears a winter white jacket with black faux fur trimmed hood, lime shirt, pink V-neck sweater, blue jacquard skirt, pink lace tights, and black boots.

Item #66089
Dayle™
The Dynamite Girls™
London Calling Collection
Suggestion Retail Price: US $65.00
Limited Edition of 600 Dolls
Estimated Delivery Date: Late March 2013

Last but not least is Dayle.  She wears a pink blouse, lime tights, off white sweatshirt, grey and brown jacquard shorts, blue-grey coat, and knee high brown boots with faux fur trim. Must say that this collections is very versatile and a good value for money, considering the amount of clothes one gets with each doll and their possibility for mix and match.

Volks are going full force with GK for Wonder Festival

Volks are going full force with GK for Wonder Festival screenshot

The monthly magazine scans may have given away much of the surprise but it seems that Volks still had a few tricks up their sleeves as they have just opened up their Wonder Festival page on their main site to show what they will be taking to the event in a couple of weeks time.

As shown in the scans, there will be a new kit from an add-on for Walkure Romanze in the guise of Alice Weinberg. She will be joined by the other two recent releases, Ryozouji Akane and Bertille Alchiselle at the Volks booth. Also, a completely new kit of Koishikawa Tamami from new eroge hanairo Heptagram will also be on sale. There was a tiny pic of her in the magazine scans but we have a clear (and coloured) look at her now! Akiyama Akari will be on display for the charagumin side along with yet another member of the Girls und Panzer cast, Isuzu Hana.

Rounding up the rest are various senjustuki variants from Muv-Luv alternative and the enormous duo of KOS-MOS and T-ELOS, both with huge pricetags to match their 1/4 scale. It's great to see KOS-MOS available again after years of nothing but I can't help but be at least a little annoyed by the release of T-ELOS since she will be released as both a regular unpainted kit and a charagumin kit! Having recently received the Charagumin kit, I'm not all that impressed by the workmanship, as the colour resin kit still needs a lick of paint to look decent, in which case, I would have preferred to go for the unpainted (and ¥10k cheaper) regular kit had I known that they would have made it available again so soon...

Dammit...
