A Barbie made for a cure
Subjects like cancer are especially difficult to explain to children, even more so how to cope. For a pair of friends, there is something that could be done. Friends Rebecca Sypin and Jane Bingham have come together to pitch an idea to Mattel that could help with such issues. The two have created a Facebook page to push for the creation of a bald version of the iconic Barbie doll.
As with anything, there are cynics out there. There are those who say that you could just simply shave the hair off an existing Barbie. Anyone who's had a brother can tell you that you will not get the look you're aiming for. Also, some have criticized the idea of it as it detracts from people directly contributing to cancer-related charities. It has to be pointed out though that sadly, most of the population is unaware of how the disease affects people's lives, let alone the teaching tool it can provide to younger kids.
Personally speaking, I love this idea. After having to deal with cancer in my family, as I'm sure many of us have known someone afflicted by it, any thing that can help those understand what's going on will be beneficial. I would love to see Mattel actually do something that would be empowering with Barbie that isn't a career.

BATMAN ART Gets the DR SEUSS STYLE Treatment!
So, you can only imagine how I feel about this artwork, it's INSANELY GREAT! First, as a parody, they're just funny. The one of TWO-FACE really cracks me up for some reason & the CATWOMAN Cat-Suit is wonderful. But the thing that makes them true masterpieces of ART is the ultra-fine details in copying the exact drawing style of Seuss! Faustus has done some other parodies, which are worth mentioning, but because we focus on "Batman" here I'll just post this LINK, please click it to see more great stuff!
Hot Toys' 1989 Batman may have the best box ever
Okay ... well, the headline's a little bit off, but let me explain. Hot Toys' Batman based off Michael Keaton's look in the 1989 film is on its way to being released soon, and it looks like the box is going to have a little bit of a surprise. In the middle of the box will be a translucent Batman insignia that can be removed from the box itself and used to project the Batsignal logo where ever you please.
Yes, this means you can make your own Batsignal with a flashlight. I don't even know how to tell you how awesome this is. Expect to see this Batman (and the matching Joker) soon. Did any of you pre-order this figure?

Space Ace's Kimberly gets some love from Electric Tiki
Space Ace was a game that perhaps never got as much love as its Don Bluth Studios predecessor, Dragon's Lair (well, there's also the whole laserdisc thing), but that doesn't mean it's been forgotten. In fact, Electric Tiki is releasing a 1/8-scale (14-inch) polystone statue of Ace's girlfriend, Kimberly. The statue itself features Kimberly in her trademark winged roller skated, but what's really cool is the base she's on. It has five display areas, with one featuring the game's logo, and the other four featuring model sheet character drawings, which is a nice little touch for Space Ace fans.
Kimberly will run you US$199.99 with a US$20 deposit. She'll be releasing in the third quarter of 2012 and you can pre-order her on Sideshow Collectibles right now. This statue bring back and nostalgic memories, Planet Tomopop?
