Lechery's sofa girls sit in awkward repose

Lechery's sofa girls sit in awkward repose screenshot

Honestly this isn't the most ridiculous thing you could make as a figure company called Lechery. Still I think it's good material for the Hawkeye Initiative. After all, why should the figure world escape that particular parody?

The character is Boss Rose, part of Lechery's "Daydream Collection" line of candy resin figures. The stockings and shoes are removable in case you like the bare-legged look.

Both variants will go up for pre-order soon, but there are no details posted yet.

FansProject reveals new 'Headmaster' Function-X line

FansProject reveals new 'Headmaster' Function-X line screenshot

In a rare update on the FansProject website we're treated to a cryptic preview of their upcoming series Function-X. At one time this was believed to be a homage to the Transformers Technobots combiner team, but now we know this is an attempt to update the original G1 Headmasters. If you're unfamiliar, Headmasters were a Transformers sub-group that featured larger transforming robots with removable heads that could turn into smaller robots that would ride inside the larger bot's alternative mode. It's a crazy concept that was also used in the Targetmaster (transforming guns) and Powermaster (transforming engines) lines. However, it also gave way to some really cool figures like Fortress Maximus and Scorponok!

From the image on their website we can get an idea of the first five figures in the line. The very first release will be Chromedome, renamed Code (CrOmeDomE), followed by unnamed versions of Brainstorm, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, and Skullcruncher. Oddly, Hardhead and Highbrow appear to be missing from the lineup for now. TFormers also unearthed an image of some concept art of each figure which also prominently features a sixth figure, Minerva, from Japan's Transformers: The Headmasters anime series. The concept art also shows Brainstorm in dark gray (a reference to something I can't quite put my finger on), as well as Skullcruncher in the red, white, and blue colors of Alligatorcon. I would love a figure of Alligatorcon!

With this we're a few steps closer to seeing every figure from G1 updated in one way or another. I'm pretty excited to see just how these look in physical form. Hopefully the wait isn't too long.

ArtFX+ Wonder Woman might not lasso you in

ArtFX+ Wonder Woman might not lasso you in screenshot

Kotobukiya's Facebook page has been updated with photos of their upcoming ArtFX+ New 52 Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is the sixth Justice League member to have been unveiled, following Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, and Batman.

I'm not sure what to think of this Wonder Woman. While the face's style turned me off at first, it really doesn't look as bad from some angles. That said, I can rightly understand any criticism in this area especially ones pertaining to those googly eyes. I imagine the slightly down-turned head may limit the display options somewhat as well.

Otherwise the body seems okay. Sure, she could be a cup (or two) larger but this might be a bit closer to the New 52 art. Speaking of the art, Wonder Woman is wearing pants. Some may recall that Wonder Woman's costume was redesigned to feature pants in the New 52 but, following a good amount of fan uproar, Wonder Woman was "stripped" of her pants. I'm not sure if this Wonder Woman was sculpted prior to that decision (and thus too late to change) or whether Kotobukiya just wanted to keep it based on the original line-up's promotional artwork. Either way, I'm not a fan of the pants although I more dislike the stars adorning her armored corset.

On the plus side, Wonder Woman features an interesting skin tone which gives her an almost luminous quality. It's a shame that similar attention wasn't paid to her rather bland hair, which is also somewhat lacking in the sculpting department. Like her teammates, Wonder Woman features a glossy finish on her costume that might not appeal to all collectors.

While I'm still not sure how I feel about the ArtFX+ Wonder Woman, I certainly won't call it bad. I imagine that there will be some amount of polarized opinion in reaction to the style and so forth, though. How do you Tomopop readers feel about it?
