Study this se.kirara pre-order
Thanks to what seems to be a lack of manga or anime adaptation, I can't say I'm too familiar with Native's eroge se.kirara, other than the fact it seems to have some pretty appealing character designs. Right off the bat I'm drawn in particular to Nozomi Akiyama, and if you're familiar with my tastes it's not hard to see why.
More than anything, that messy, bright blue hair is a big draw for me, and easily enough to make a character must-have as long as everything else is at least somewhat up to par. Fortunately that seems to be the case here, though with such a simple figure it's hard to find something to complain about. A callback to her eroge roots though, there's a bit of naughtiness added with a slight teasing lift of the front of her dress. Interested parties will be able to pick her up in April for around ¥7,429.

Don't be unfortunate and miss this Binbougami pre-order
With the source material certainly being one of the busiest, crackiest anime series in a long while, it stands to reason that any fitting figure would be nearly as chaotic. Thankfully, Megahouse seems to be right on the money with this upcoming figure of Sakura, packing a lot of energy and detail into a tiny 1/8 package.
She's got a great dynamic pose going on, and the writing on the slips attached to her sword is a nice touch, again--particularly given the fairly small scale. You're getting a bit of a two for one as well, with Momiji included in hitodama form. I am admittedly not a huge fan of Momiji's patchwork normal appearance, but in the form of a spirit flame it suits the figure perfectly.
I am a little concerned that Sakura may be a bit of a leaner over time, but for a fairly appealing set overall the risk may be worth the price. If you're up for the task, you can grab her in April for about ¥7,800.

J-List piles on the Ghibli plushes
J-List has been good to plush collectors lately but they hit the mother load with their latest batch of Studio Ghibli-licensed plushes which were recently added to the site. The four new additions are from the movies, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, and Princess Mononoke, and are a Snoozing Totoro plush, a Kitsunerisu (or fox squirrel, if you prefer) beanie plush, and two Yakkuru plushes (one standard and one beanie variety).
I personally prefer Yakkuru, Prince Ashitaka's noble steed, in his standard 17 centimeter tall form (US$35). His saddle and red reins add to the plush and make him more recognizable. The snoozing Totoro (US$48) with little Mei perched on his stomach comes in a very close second. He actually snores, with his big belly moving up and down in sync with the sounds. The two beanie plushes are cute as well (US$19.50 each) and look like they are a good size for displaying on your desk.
All of these plushes are available now. Any Miyazaki fans out there excited about this update?

NEW BATMAN TOYS For 2013 - LEGO Arkham Asylum Breakout!
The LEGO Toy Company announced the other day that they will be making a new DC Universe Super Heroes Play Set called, "Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout #10937". As you can see from the pics this is going to be a HUGE play set with 8 figures, a Security Van Vehicle, & will contain 1619 pieces. In keeping with tradition this building will have a super-gothic style.
Sound the alarm! The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow have escaped from Arkham Asylum with the help of Dr. Harleen Quinzel. These villains are about to wreak havoc in the streets of Gotham City! Help Caped Crusaders Batman and Robin swoop into action and put those good-for-nothing criminals back where they belong! Chase after the security van as it breaks through the gates! Then throw each villain back behind bars in 8 highly detailed rooms. Includes 8 mini-figures: Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Scarecrow and a guard, all with assorted weapons or accessories. Look for it to hit stores around January 2013.
