Tesselate introduces us to the ED-IT DJ bots screenshot

Tesselate is back with a new resin robot who's ready to rock the party. He's launching the ED-IT DJ robot line, and the first one happens to be the B5100. Originally designed by Tesselate back in 1999, the B5100 is one of the future's most popular DJ robots and a joint founder of the ED-IT group. Yes, robots are the world's DJs in the future; sorry, Deadmau5.

The 6-inch B5100 comes with an underground club desk and two miniature Accex sound-creating devices, ready to turn any shelf into a party. You can pick him up in a limited edition of five pieces for £70 on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. GMT (3 p.m. Eastern, noon Pacific) at Tesselate's shop. You can also pick up just the head for £20 at the same time.

Pierre Rouzier's new Mites are frankly cool

Pierre Rouzier's new Mites are frankly cool screenshot

Pierre Rouzier is celebrating the impending doom that is the end of the world (you know, Mayan calendars and all that stuff) with a new series of six resin Cybermites with a little bit of an apocalyptic theme themselves. The Stupid Bunny Suit Cybermites are each 6 inches tall from ear to foot, handcast in resin, and their inspiration should be a bit obvious, but if not: it's Frank from Donnie Darko. The Mites look a lot more menacing with their bunny masks on and in that metallic steel paint job, no?

You can pick up the new Cybermites from Pierre's site for US$65 plus shipping. I don't think they'll be delivered by time-space vortex to you while you're resting on your bed ... but is anyone thinking of picking one up?

Nendoroid Akiho Senomiya up for pre-order

Nendoroid Akiho Senomiya up for pre-order screenshot

The latest Nendoroid to go up for pre-order is Akiho Senomiya from Robotics;Notes, and as noted in our previous post on her, you get a lot of accessories. Extra arms and legs, additional faces, her glasses, Poke-com and a poseable Tanegashi Machine 3 are all included, but we're still unsure about that weight balance issue. Hopefully, Good Smile's taken care of that, as it'd be a disappointment if she were suddenly back-heavy. Also, it's worth noting that an AR application coming out in the near future will let you change Akiho's look to ... a catgirl costume, apparently.

You can pick up Akiho for the usual Nendoroid pre-order price — ¥3,334 — and she'll be releasing in March. I still haven't gotten into Robotics;Notes, but for those of you who are fans, is she what you were hoping for?

What A View!

I've been blogging since 2004 so I think it would be fair to say that I love it. It's something that seems to come naturally to me. Sit, think, and write.

And, it's fair to say that I don't usually find myself in a position where I don't have something to say. In fact, I could probably be accused of having blogorrhea - too much to say.

Well, last week I was speechless.  As I sat down at my sister's dining room table I found that I had nothing to say- I couldn't blog. My mind was a blank. I was too distracted. YIKES!!!

What was going on? All I wanted to do was stare out her dining room window.

How can you blog when you're looking at a view like in the pictures above or below? I was mesmerized by the view. No wonder I couldn't blog. I was too distracted.

Last week I paid a visit to my sister and her Rock Garden Alpacas farm in upstate New York and absolutely loved it. The views were amazing, my alpaca "nieces and nephews" were irresistible, and the people I met were so friendly, so inviting. I had a wonderful time.

My sister and I spent several days laughing, shopping, eating, crafting, tending to the "kids" and working on her websites. There was a lot of laughter, a lot of shopping (she's a very bad influence on me! LOL), and a lot of eating. Hopefully, I didn't gain too much weight.

Actually to be fair I can be an out of control shopper all by myself so when her friend told her about The Fieldstone House and the fabric there she was all ears. And, when she told me about the fabric there - well, all you have to do is mention fabric to me and I'm game.

So, my sister and I and her friend paid a visit to The Fieldstone House. That was such an amazing experience it deserves it's own blog post. Fair to say my sister and I were very, very bad there.

Twice a day my sister and I had to walk down the hill to tend to her alpaca "kids." With such a view it's amazing I ever made it down to the "kids."

But, as always, Ivy was waiting so I couldn't get too distracted. She had her schedule and expected us to be on time. Sometimes we were a little early and sometimes a little late. Both times she'd give us a look of disapproval - like a mother scolding her kids.

Of course, after tending to the "kids" I got to go back to blogging in her dining room. Or, trying to blog in her dining room.

I decided it was impossible to do. I finally gave up. How can you blog with such a view?

One of the cartoons I used to watch , back in the 80’s, was Dungeons & Dragons. The show was rather formulaic, following the adventures of a bunch of kids trying to get back home from D&D land.

The Return of the Zombie Art Project starts tomorrow

The Return of the Zombie Art Project starts tomorrow screenshot

While many toy fans are out shopping for the today's deals, plastic zombie elves are putting the finishing touches on Mikie Graham's Return of the Zombie Art Project, set to open tomorrow at Los Angeles' Toy Art Gallery. Okay, I lied about the "zombie elves" bit but the rest is all true. The opening is tomorrow, November 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Mikie will be there "in the flesh" to greet guests and just be an overall cool guy.

For a refresher, this is the second Zombie Art Project. In it, Mikie customized Playmobil toys to turn them into the flesh-eating undead. I know I recognized some of the figures from when I was a kid! Here is a run-down of what this show will entail, courtesy of the official press release:

For the last few months Mikie has been working like a madman turning over one hundred Playmobil figures into 30+ dioramas of the plastic undead. Rounding out the show is a massive 6 x 10 ft painting that Mikie turned into a run of 25 limited edition Giclee prints as well as 3 giant severed Playmobil heads that Mikie sculpted, molded and cast in resin/fiberglass and then individually customized!

All of the figures and prints from the show can be purchased through Toy Art Gallery's online store starting tomorrow. So if you fall in love with a particular piece, you have the opportunity to take it home!

The Return of the Zombie Art Project will run from November 24 to December 8 at Toy Art Gallery on 7571 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046.

I remember the old days of playing spy games with friends.
