Catwoman, Harley Quinn coming to Sideshow DC figure line screenshot

If you've been wondering where Sideshow Collectibles' DC Comics Premium Format Figure line will be going in the near future, that image above is your answer. Popping up online earlier this morning were images of Catwoman and Harley Quinn done for Sideshow. The artist behind them, Artgerm (a.k.a. Stanley Lau) of Imaginary Friends Studios, mentioned in the descriptions for both illustrations that they're for Sideshow, and he's also done the artwork for that amazing Poison Ivy Premium Format Figure (sculpted by Mark Newman) coming next year. Also to note: this is not the same as the 1/2-scale Catwoman that Sideshow is doing, as these should be 1/4-scale figures.

Stay tuned for more news on Catwoman and Harley Quinn whenever we get it, and for the review of Poison Ivy sometime in late February/early March 2013. You know, whenever she shows up at my front door.

[Big, big thanks to Batthink (a.k.a. Daniel) for the tip!]

Under the Radar: Happy Kuji reveals its Persona 4 lottery screenshot

Swept up in all the was Happy Kuji's quiet announcement of the chibi prize figures in its upcoming November lottery, which is Persona 4-themed. The five figures revealed were Yu, Kanji, Yosuke, Yukiko and the human form of Kuma/Teddie, along with a sixth unrevealed mystery figure. Like the other prize figures, you're looking at popping down ¥800 if you're in Japan (or have a proxy there) or looking for them online otherwise.

The best figure of all of them, though, is the last prize revealed: Nanako in her Mahou Tantei Raburin (Magical Detective Loveline) outfit she wore in Persona 4: The Animation, with a removable hat. Yes, this is from Episode 13 when Nanako decides she wants to find out what Yu is up to and dresses up as her favorite magical detective character because ... hey, it's supposed to help. The Persona 4 fan in me is awfully pleased with this news; anyone else out there liking these chibi figures?

Artoyz announce newest original figure, Chaos Kong screenshot

Paris designer toy shop Artoyz is hosting a special exhibition, opening Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. Central European Time, to celebrate the launch of their newest original toy, Chaos Kong. Designed by French illustrator Bunka, Chaos Kong is a 7.5-inch-tall primate with some big sideburns and big red eyes, evocative of his earlier Chaos Monkey piece. Chaos Kong will be an initial run of 200 figures and will go on sale stating Nov. 8.

As part of the release, there will be a special Bunka exhibition at Artoyz (45 Rue de L'arbre Sec, Paris) featuring new artwork, custom toys, prints, original drawings and more. Bunka has also invited several artists to reinterpret the Chaos characters in their own style: Aisk, Fakir, Stan, Grapheart, Niark1, Leonartz, Frederic Peeters, Boris Mirroir, and Yomek will have works displayed at the event.

Will you take Gundam Seed's Kira from MegaHouse?

Will you take Gundam Seed's Kira from MegaHouse? screenshot

So, Gundam Seed is one of those titles I've been told I should watch but it's been on the backlog with 10 bazillion other shows I need to watch. I do know it's popular with MegaHouse alone producing figures of characters such as the recently released Athrun and various versions of Lacus dating back all the way to 2003. Strangely protagonist Kira Yamato has been ignored in getting a scaled figure.

Finally after a long wait, MegaHouse fills that void with the 1/8-scale G.E.M. Series Kira Yamato figure. Kira carries a gentle aura with his smile and pose to go with his personality as he extends his hand. With him is his robotic bird Torii (or Birdy) who appears to be separated from Kira so you can place it anywhere. With all the product shots, it looks like Kira may not include any additional arm parts but he will come with an additional face that turns his kind smile into a serious frown.

MegaHouse's 1/8-scale G.E.M. Series Kira Yamato is retailing for ¥7,300 and will be available in April, 2013. Have you been patiently waiting for a scaled figure of Kira or are you just fine with MegaHouse's previous releases from this title or from Gundam Seed Destiny?
