The Dolls Product Lines Series - “Bearly Victorian, Deb! and Bearly Victorian, Ryan!” Victorian Animal Bear Art Dolls Products
I don't think I've ever met anyone who hasn't loved making animals. Whether their sewn, knit, crocheted, sculpted, paper crafted, woodcrafted or painted - everyone loves them. So, of course, given I love everything and anything Victorian I had to make some Victorian animals of my own.
"Bearly Victorian, Ryan" and his wife, "Bearly Victorian, Deb!" have decided to start their own "Victorian Animals Tea Society" for all their wonderful Victorian animal friends.
After getting rejected for the umpteenth time from the latest Victorian tea society that he had applied to "Barely Victorian, Ryan!" decided that he and his wife should start their own club.
Their club would truly have an open membership and be accepting of all individuals and creatures. None of this "open to all", but really closed to animals rules. So what if Ryan and Deb were bears. They were still Victorian to the core. In fact, their lineage was probably older than some of the snooty Victorians who turned down their membership application.
Only one way around - start your own club! So, "Bearly Victorian, Ryan!" and "Bearly Victorian, Deb!" did.
Don't let their "Bearly Victorian, Deb and Bearly Victorian, Ryan's names fool you. Ryan and Deb are anything but "barely Victorian!" Both Ryan and Deb are Victorian blue bloods. In fact, Ryan's lineage dates back "before the dawn of man!" Ryan considers himself to be the epitome of the classy Victorian gentleman. He has the right attitude, the right demeanor, the right clothes, the right walk, the right taste in wine. Why, he can talk the talk and walk the walk with the best of the Victorian gentleman. Deb considers herself to be at the top of her class. She is refined, elegant, stylish, well mannered, well educated, and proper at all times. She is a "true lady" in all sense of the word.
"Bearly Victorian, Deb!" is quite the fashionable lady. She knows it. Why don't they?
"Bearly Victorian, Ryan!" is quite the debonair. He knows it. Why don't they?
"Bearly Victorian, Deb!" is a 13" Victorian bear. She is a self standing doll with a square bottom and plush felt body. Her face is embroidered and she has black bead eyes and an animal nose. Deb has 3 layers of wonderful lace trim along the bottom of her square body and is wearing a lace trimmed and gathered slip. Her beautiful coordinating ensemble is the latest in Victorian fashion. Her dress has multiple layers of lace trim along the sleeve hem and bottom hem and is gathered at the neck edge. Her matching wrap is lined and lace trimmed and overlaps wonderfully in the front and decorated with a bow. She has a lined and coordinating lace trimmed cape fastened around her neck and shoulders. Deb's beautifully matching lined and lace trimmed flannel bonnet adorns her head and is tied in a bow around her neck. A lace bow decorates the front of her bonnet.

Doom SNES was built with a 'hacked-up StarFox cartridge'
Randy Linden has seen some shit.
He's worked on Dragon's Lair, the infamous Home Alone and Where's Waldo NES, the emulator Bleem, and even Doom SNES. Gaming Reinvented caught up with him recently to allow him to share a few development stories around the campfire, and one in particular that called to me was his journey to create Doom on the Super Nintendo.
Seeing it as a challenge first and foremost, Linden and the team crafted the development hardware from a "hacked-up StarFox cartridge," mostly so they could utilize the SuperFX chip. The process also involved splicing both modified SNES and Amiga controllers, and a lengthy toolkit that had to be written before development even began.
Linden notes that due to the ROM size they nearly filled up the cart as best they could (there were 16 bytes free in total), but were unable to include as many levels at they'd like. He also reminds us that SuperScope, Mouse, and XBand modem support were officially supported. While a lot of people assume Nintendo would have been hell to work with on this fairly violent project, Linden recalls that as long as the blood wasn't red, they were good.
Hearing backstories like these fill in the gaps between my visit to the local video store and popping a game into my console are among my favorite parts of my gaming experience.

Shenmue III is allegedly still on track for 2018
A game as big as Shenmue III has a lot of moving parts. Several studios are working on the project and helping it come to life alongside of Shenmue father Yu Suzuki and his team at Ys Net, and that includes Shibuya Productions -- a company that's handling marketing and publishing alongside of Sony.
Its president and founder, Cedric Biscay, has also recently confirmed that Shemue III is still on track for 2018, noting that the year will be great "with the [release] of Shenmue III on PS4 and PC," teasing "many other surprises" that may or may not have anything to do with Shenmue.
As a Kickstarter project people are right to worry a bit -- especially given how many of them have failed, gone under completely, or delivered a shoddy product -- but with so many moving parts and so much optimism, I think we will end up seeing this in 2018, even if it's in December.

Fortnite's new limited-time mode quietly enters the ring
Fortnite is getting a new, limited-time game mode that involves silencers! Running from January 5th until the 8th, the mode (called "Sneaky Silencers") will force players to utilize stealth tactics over brute force to score a win. All traps will be disabled, weapons will be restricted to silenced SMGs and pistols and the bush disguise will have an increased drop rate, so you'll have more chances to get your bush game on!
There will be a new pistol in chests to coincide with this mode. It will only drop as an Epic or Legendary gun, so you won't see it that often. The gun will arrive on January 2nd to get people for the game mode. Your Fortnite client won't require an update, according to Epic, so you'll be set to go when the mode enters rotation.
