Monster Roll: Sushi Chefs vs Giant Sea Monsters
This bombastic short film by Dan Blank is a proof of concept video. It proves that the concept of sushi chefs fighting giant monsters is awesome and I totally wish it were a full-length movie.
Here’s some movie posters to go along with the video.
Check out the equally rad making-of video here.

Win a plush talking Sucklord at DesignerCon!
With New York Comic Con out of the way, the next big toy event in the US has got to be DesignerCon, taking place in Pasadena, California, on November 3. One of the draws of this year's con is the Suckcarnival, in which one lucky player will win a talking Sucklord plush. The press release describes the prize thusly:
Remember when you were a kid and all you wanted to do was win that amazing stuffed animal at the fair? Now's your chance to try your skills at winning something extra extra extra radical. Sure, you might win a headshot of the Sucklord, or maybe a piece of bright pink junk, but you COULD win a talking plush Sucklord. Based on a design by Gary Ham, this little guy will remind you of the actual Sucklord, and with a press of his palm he will spout annoying sayings at you. At least until the batteries die.
As noted in the quote, the plush was birthed from a previous toy designed by Gary Ham (check out Jeremyriad's picture in our gallery to see a comparison). My understanding is that there is only plush made, so that is quite the collectible for the art toy fan.
Look for more DesignerCon coverage leading up to and after the event, right here at Tomopop. Are any of you planning on attending?

Noel returns with Hyakka Ryouran for Hobby Japan scans
Hobby Japan is all about exclusives but will sometimes brings us such figures we haven't seen anywhere else (which is partially disappointing). Their bread and butter has typically come from the Queen's Gate name of artwork.
The latest in magazine scans show that Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue putting on red for her outfit and dying her hair black. Two of my favorite colors but I still can't get behind the design of this figure. I know she's a tiny person but the body looks way too petite and that pose looks so unnatural. The 1/8-scale Queen's Gate Ao no Keishousha Noel Vermillion 2P Color Ver. will be available in March, 2013.
Fans of Hyakka Ryouran will see the 1/8-scale Jubei Yagyu Hakugin no Kenki ver. flying their way between April and May of 2013. It's a cute pose and I admit a bit of lift on a shirt does push some buttons. Unfortunately, not too big on what's underneath but I expected such from this title. Everything else looks great that's attached to Jubei including the sword, armor pieces, and even the eye patch. I also enjoy how shapely the legs are designed on these figures.
Finally, the upcoming movie Inazuma Eleven GO VS Danball Senki W will be seeing the Achilles D9 get a figure in what appears to be a part of a special event. So the exciting news seems to be for Hyakka Ryouran fans with the new Jubei coming down the line. Does it tickle your fancy or the new color for Noel?

‘Escape’ - A Gut-Wrenching Short Film About A Little Girl And Her Love For Zelda Games
Little Danni gets bad grades in school and is always ridiculed. If that weren’t rough enough, she has to come home to parents who are always fighting with each other and yelling at her. Her only escape is to a land called Hyrule. You should probably watch this with some Kleenex.

Live Action ‘PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale’ Trailer
This comes from the same people behind the last year’s super amazing Michael video and it’s almost just as good. And just like with Michael, there’s various game references hidden throughout the trailer. Can you spot them all?
Hopefully they come out with more of these because it’d be nice to see some other characters in live action.
