Sideshow Collectibles: Cold Cast Wolverine Statue Update
NYCC 2012: Tamashii Nations/Bluefin new products
It's really hard for me to not love Tamashii Nations. Getting to see them up close and personal was an experience of itself for me, but let's not talk about that. You want to see the brand-new figures and that's perfectly okay. There's four of which that will wet the pallet.
With this being New York Comic Con, it was the perfect locale to unveil their latest addition to the S.H. MonsterArts line, none other than King Kong. When Bluefin asked what they wanted as far as American monsters were concerned, Kong was one of the top responses and here we are with an actual prototype. What I did love about it is that one of its alternate parts is clenched in the hands of the giant ape. Build yourself a diorama of the Empire State Building and might have the best display around.
This wasn't the only SHM in town as there was the display of Destoroyah. I can't begin to describe how massive this piece is. It didn't help matters that it was placed in a diorama of the Javits Center in the process of demolition. It's going to be bigger than King Ghidorrah and that's just a complement on its own. Looking at it hands on, the sculpting has only improved with this latest entry into the S.H. Monsterarts line.
As was teased relentlessly by Bluefin, yes, the S.H. Figuarts Red Ranger is happening. In what was a surprise to just about no one, it's the original (at least for Americans) Red Ranger. As hyped as I was for this release, now that it's here, I have an issue with it as the hands are just a tad too large and out of proportion. Given the amount of time until it is released, I'm sure that this is something that will be addressed. Also for Ranger/Sentai fans, the Super Robot Chogokin line will expand to include the Daibouken from GoGo Sentai Boukenger aka Power Rangers Operation Overdrive.
This is just Day 1 and there's plenty more to see from Tamashii Nations and Bluefin. Check out the gallery below and stay tuned throughout the weekend for more from New York Comic Con!

NYCC 2012: Super7
Super7's booth at New York Comic Con was much smaller than their San Diego Comic Con set-up, and the one big new item was the reveal of the designs for their Alien collectible glasses. Based on the kinds of glasses you'd get from fast-food joints in the late 1970s (looking at you, Burger King), the four glassware pieces each feature a memorable moment from the film. Doesn't the Chestburster one just scream "lunchtime"?
Beyond that, Super7's wares included all of the exclusives for the event, plus several of their recent releases. Check them all out in the gallery!

NYCC 2012: Zukies
The Zukies have made their way to NYCC and they're ready to invade your home with cuteness! We previously showed that Alison was going to have some awesome new items, including shirts, at their booth and it appears they had even more!
They had the awesome shirts, several charms, plushies, and of course their fantastic DIY Zukie all on display. They also had a case full of amazing Zukie customs (which you can see in the gallery!), including some from Rsin! Even if you don't make it out to their booth, be sure to keep your eye on the Zukie Art Store, as Alison always seems to be adding something new!
