Crayola Digital Light Designer Review

Crayola was once known mostly for their crayons and construction paper for children, but not anymore. When cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over the family’s pigment business in 1885, they couldn’t have imagined [...]

Hoity Toity and Photo Finish get mini figs! Also, ponies.
Ohmigosh! Ohmigosh! Ohmigosh! I can't believe it! I am literally getting a My Little Pony mini figure set that has both Hoity Toity and Photo Finish in it! They are my two favorite 'fancy' ponies right along with Rarity! Oh? What's that? It's a 3-pack set called 'Famous Friends' that has Rarity in it too?! Oh my lord.. You've made my pony year. The only way it could get better is if they got a normal size release as well, but I'll take what I can get!
They are also releasing a 'Class of Cutie Marks' 3-pack that includes Diamond Tiara (Now with a middle name! It's Diamond Dazzle Tiara to you!), Apple Bloom and Applejack. Sometimes these packs confuse me with their pairings. I know AJ is Apple Bloom's sister, but.. she's not in her class, so why not leave room for someone else? It's like the Spa Ponies set. Lotus Blossom is the only one that has to do with the spa really, and she gets paired with Zecora and Pinkie Pie. Though I'm glad for a Zecora mini figure, it just seems a little weird. Why not Lotus, Aloe and Rarity? Go figure. The new mini figure sets will release around October and you can pre-order them for varying prices under US$15.
Last, and well.. kinda least.. is the 20 inch Fluttershy plush that's now available for pre-order as well. Perhaps I get spoiled by writing up the custom plushies all the time, but this is not my cup of tea any more and I've completely changed my mind. Yes, it's a 20 inch plush, which would be awesome, but you're also looking to pay around US$50 for it when it releases in January 2013.

Batman Play Arts Kai figures may put a smile on your face
Square-Enix had some of their upcoming Batman Play Arts Kai figures, including some prototypes, at their booth during the Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2012). While I could go through the whole list, I think most people wouldn't get past the words, "The Dark Knight (Heath Ledger) Joker".
The prototype for the TDK Joker is something of a show stealer, driven in small part by the popularity of Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. This unpainted prototype looks spectacular. I like how the sculpting even captures the ruffles in his vest. If he looks as good (or better) painted, the TDK Joker will likely be my first Play Arts Kai figure.
However, Joker wasn't the only Nolanverse figure on display as he was joined by a The Dark Knight Rises (Anne Hathaway) Catwoman, TDKR (Tom Hardy) Bane, and the (Christian Bale) Batman. The Catwoman prototype seems to be shaping up nicely and, when painted, might even give the Hot Toys version a run for its money if the gaudy joints don't prove too great a distraction. The Bane is also solid despite possibly taking some artistic license with actor Tom Hardy's musculature. I have a difficult time objectively discussing the Batman because I can't quite get Bale's goofy Batman voice out of my head.
Also on display were some of Rocksteady's Arkham series designs, the most prominent of which was probably the Batman: Arkham City Harley Quinn prototype. While there's been some mixed reception over the character design (many fondly remember her "classic" outfit as seen in Batman: The Animated Series when they were younger), I've personally been a fan of her Arkham City redeco and believe the prototype does the design justice. I haven't been as into the Rocksteady Robin design (which is basically just the character with a hood) although the detailing looks good. Plus I suppose some fans might dig the look. Anybody here planning on picking some of these up?
