The Dolls Product Lines Series - I'm Ryan B. Pilgrim - Pilgrim Doll Ornament

"I'm Ryan B. Pilgrim" is right proud of himself and quite thankful for all he has. He looks forward to Thanksgiving every year, not just for the terrific food, but to enjoy the company of his friends and family. Plus, he gets to do a little more of his favorite activity - hunting. He takes after his Grandfather Karl.

Everyone in the New England community works so hard during the year and tries to remain positive through the harsh New England winters. They all know that they can count on each other and are there to support each other.

Everyone knew that coming to America was not going to be easy. Living conditions were tenuous at best and no one knew this better than the early pilgrim settlers.

In fact, "I'm Ryan B. Pilgrim" also decided to create a miniature ornament of himself for all New Englander's to make and hang in their homes around Thanksgiving to remind themselves of all they should be thankful for and to remind them that if the early pilgrims could face such adverse conditions in New England and survive, well - so can they.

Count your blessings! "I'm Ryan B. Pilgrim" certainly counts his.

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday for counting our blessings and being thankful for all we have. And, Plymouth Kathy is definitely thankful.

In fact, she is so happy her positive attitude carries her all through the harsh winter months and into the spring.

She can handle the harsh New England weather as long as she stays positive. For making it through another harsh winter is definitely something to be thankful for.

And, if Kathy has her health and is surrounded by all the people she loves - well, how can you not be thankful for that.

Everyone knew that coming to America was not going to be easy. Living conditions were tenuous at best and Kathy knew this.

So, she and her family will work hard to make a new life for themselves in New England. A few harsh winters won't destroy their spirit.

In Fact, Plymouth Kathy decided to create a miniature ornament of herself for all New Englander's to make and hang in their homes around Thanksgiving to remind themselves of all they should be thankful for and to remind them that if the early pilgrims could face such adverse conditions in New England and survive, well - so can they.

Count your blessings! "Plymouth Kathy" certainly counts hers.

How To Make A Fast and Easy Miniature Snowman Duo Decoration

Several years ago while my mother and I were shopping at a craft show in Sturbridge we saw a booth from a crafter who was selling beautiful clocks with shadow box bottoms that had three shelves that you could add mini holiday and seasonal decorations to.  We were in need of a clock for our family room so I bought a burgundy colored clock, which is shown in the picture below.

I thought it would make for a great clock and area to decorate for the various seasons and holidays. The only problem with the clock was it was so heavy we had a hard time carrying it to the car.

So, of course, I set about gathering various miniatures to decorate my new clock.

I had bought several unfinished wood snowman pieces at a craft store years before and hadn't used them as of yet.  I decided they would be perfect so I decided to finish them.  Here's what I did:

Supplies Needed:

1" by 1 1/2" by 1/2" Unfinished Wood Snowman
3/8" by 1 1/2" by 1/2" Unfinished Wood Snowman
Acrylic Paint (White, Black, Colonial Blue, Orange)
Small Scarps of Wool (For Scarf) - 2
Brushes
Matte Finish or Mod Podge
Pencil

Instructions:

1)  Paint the top, bottom, back, front, and sides of each snowman with the white acrylic paint. Let dry.
2)  Paint the top, bottom, sides, front and back of the hat for each snowman with the Colonial Blue acrylic paint. Let dry.
3)  Using the diagram below as a guide lightly draw the eyes, eyebrows, and nose of each snowman with the pencil.  Lightly draw dots for the mouth of each snowman with the pencil.  Lightly draw circles for the coals down the center of each snowman with the pencil.

4)  Paint the nose for each snowman with the orange acrylic paint. Let dry.
5)  Paint the eyes and eyebrows for each snowman with the black acrylic paint.  Let dry.
6)  Paint dots for the mouth for each snowman with the black acrylic paint. Let dry.
7)  Paint coals down the front center of each snowman's belly with the black acrylic paint. Let dry.
8)  Brush matte finish or mod podge on the top, bottom, sides, front, and back of reach snowman. Let dry.
9)  Cut two 6" long by 1/4" wide strips of wool for the scarves for each snowman out of the scraps of wool.
10) Tie the scarves around the neck of each snowman and knot in the center to secure. Trim the edges.

It was so easy to do and, truth be told, they look wonderful on the clock.

Kingdom and Kinsman - Two New Faces

Two new faces have debuted and collectors are going gaga over both of them.
This is the face of Draig (but not the actual doll) who will be released some time in October.

She has the most intriguing Asian sculpt I've ever seen. I love her in both versions above as a blonde and as a brunette. A new hand sculpt with "Stiletto Nails" will come with Draig. I cannot wait to see her!

The Kinsman has undergone dramatic changes. This is Lancelot in (almost) all his glory. You are seeing a comparison shot between him and Garrick. He is a highly refined version and I like him. I wonder if he will be able to wear other male dolls' clothes. That would be a bonus.
