Barbie is toting a new accessory-an LCD screen that displays pictures taken with her built in camera. Now kids can interact with their doll in a new way like they’ve never been able to before. What Is She Like? The Barbie Photo Fashion Doll is just like all the other Barbies before her. She’s glamorous, [...]

Baby Hjolster Makes Carrying Your Baby More Manly, Less Safe

Take a look at the Baby Hjolster, which actually isn’t Baby Holster misspelled because I got Dorito dust in my computer keys.  Those of you who have created a monster (a.k.a have a child) know all about the Baby Bjorn, that thing that’s basically a backpack that you can safely put your child in. Well, this is like that, except it’s a holster.  But, when you get into trouble with some sketchy folk, you just have a useless baby.  Practice the ...

DrawnWords.com Presents: 50 Great Games | #2: Infamous 2

Continuing on with the series of 50 Great Games, the weekly article where illustrators and writers come together to blab about their favorite video games and why they’re so cool, here is entry #2. The post features Drawn Word’s artist Estevan Sanchez’s pick, Infamous 2. He wrote, painted, and paneled the following comic strip about why Infamous 2 is indeed the shit. Read the entire comic after the jump below. Take a look at last week’s article on Dead Rising 2 over here, if you haven’t seen the weekly DW series before.

Steampunk Cami in Scandal

The first of my Precarious line fashions, Scandal, has arrived. Steampunk Cami is modeling.
This is a very interesting outfit. The jacket is made from a stiff, thick laminate fabric with embedded sparkle. The wrist and collar areas are embellished with beads and black rhinestones. There are two clear rhinestone designs - one at the neckline and one below the waist. The skirt is lace and is really lovely. There are two pairs of stockings - a clear inside the black. The shoes are platform without a heel. Earrings are a cluster of black beads.
Overall it's one of the most unique of all Tonner outfits I've ever seen. In case you don't know, it does come on a doll...

...but I chose to just get the outfit. You have to find someone willing to part with it. I got lucky.

Furby Review: Meet Your Futuristic Furry Friend

0

Furbies created quite a wave when they debuted in 1998. Why? Mostly it was because of their apparent ‘intelligence’ reflected in their ability to develop their verbal communication. There were some attempts to bring Furby back in the mid-2000s, but none were extremely successful. Now, 14 years after their creation, they’re getting ready to make [...]

Razor FlashRider 360: 3 Wheelers Just Got a Whole Lot Cooler

Razor has a knack for being sharp and staying on the cutting edge of developing new, awesome toys-take the Delta 500, for example. The FlashRider 360, their remake of a 3 wheeled bike, is just another example. It may appear somewhat ordinary at first, but let’s take a closer look. What Is the FlashRider 360? [...]

Nanoblocks are fantastic little blocks (the smallest one only 4X4X5 mm) that open up huge opportunities when it comes to building. There are a number of different sets, and each one allows for the detailed construction of something awesome. Our Experience with Nanoblocks We built the Taj Mahal. That sounds like a lofty statement but [...]

Mattel’s MOTUC – Dragon Blaster Skeletor

Most fans figured that when Mattel announced Thunder-Punch He-man that Dragon Blaster Skeltor would be coming hot on his heels since they were companion (variant) figures back in the vintage line. This one is a little strange in the MOTUC line as this Skeletor variant was based on the gimmick that the dragon-blaster squirted a [...]

"Snug As A Bug In A Rug Mug Rugs", 4 1/4" by 8" Penny Rug Mug Rug Decorations E-Pattern - Baby Shower Series - Pattern Category - Skill Level - Beginner

Sometimes you just totally enjoy what you're designing.  Such was the case with my new "Snug As A Bug In A Rug Mug Rugs" penny rug mug rugs that I designed to compliment my "It's Raining Baby Showers" coffee mugs at http://www.zazzle.com/rainingbabyshowers/mug.

I had been wanting to create some wool felt items for my "It's Raining Baby Showers" baby shower decorations line and thought that mug rugs with little baby heads in blanket buntings and umbrellas with raindrops would be cute.

"Snug As A Bug In A Rug Mug Rugs" is a pattern to create a 4 1/4" by 8" girls mug rug and a 4 1/4" by 8" boys mug rug.   The mug rugs are made from two pieces of wool felt (pink for the girls and blue for the boys) which are blanket stitched around all the edges.  The umbrella's, raindrops, and rattle are embroidered.  The babies have embroidered and blushed cheek faces, yarn for hair, warm and natural for the bunting blanket and a floss ribbon tie in a bow to secure the blanket bunting.

The pattern includes color diagrams showing the step-by-step process from start to finish and includes directions for embroidering the basic blanket stitch.
