Do you like cats? And do you like superheroes? What would happen if that peanut butter got mixed in with your chocolate?

Artist Tom Kennedy recently unveiled some mock ads and packaging for his Marvel Boomcatz, depicting what we might see if these figures were commercially released (sadly, they won't be). Marvel Boomcatz Series 1 shows off nine of Kennedy's designs, including cats based on Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Wolverine.

The designs are all incredibly impressive, with my favorite of the lot probably being Psyclocke. It's worth noting that Kennedy has created customs based on more than just Marvel characters, as he's also done some very neat DC Comics ones (including, ironically enough, a Catwoman cat), Star Wars, and more).

The Boomcatz line is a fan project that grew out of Kennedy's love of cats, vinyl toys, and geek culture. The figures themselves are adapted from vintage porcelain cats and, in addition to the paint, feature add-ons like Wolverine's claws and Deadpool's grenade.

Expect to see mock-ups for Kennedy's DC Comics Boomcatz in the near future.

Kadokawa, the publisher that brought you The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and other big manga titles has introduced a unique concept in action figures. A cute girl whose face you will never see.

KCAL, Kadokawa's action figure label, is rolling out "I've Never Seen Kakurezaki’s Face Before!" a series of 2-inch tall figures starring the mysterious girl. 

The story of this line plays out like an episode of a whacky episode of a slice-of-life school comedy. Kakurezaki is a girl who has many admirers. She doesn't stand out in class, but she is very sweet and kind. However to the frustration of all the boys, they can never get a look at her face. Through her own actions or unlucky accident, she refuses to show her face to those who want to see it the most.

The series features six figures each with clever names like "I can't see her at lunch!" and "I can't see her with animals!". Each order is a 10 figure pack with the guarantee you will have at least one of every figure in the set. 

This quirky figure set retails for ¥3,000 (approx. $26) and you can pre-order them now for June release.
