Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Collection by Mattel

I'm quite surprised by the good looks of these dolls and the low price of $39.95 each.  I thought I was on the wrong website.

Batman has the new Ben Affleck sculpt. He's fierce! This is so not like Mattel it's wonderful. They're calling the body type Poseable Hero Male. No more Mr. Wimpy.

The Superman Doll uses the new Henry Cavill sculpt. Not bad at all. The hero body is super muscular. No information about the costume or measurements of the doll are posted with the listings.
Wonder Woman Doll's description: The wild card in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice™, Wonder Woman is the daughter of Zeus and an Amazonian princess! Sculpted and costumed just like the movie character, she’s fully articulated and ready to fight with her sword, shield, and her iconic “magic” lasso. Knee-high boots, armored bracelets, and a headdress complete her warrior’s attire.

The costumes are not removable without cutting them off. I think these figures still have a lot of play potential in spite of that. The molded hair on the male figures doesn't bother me although it would be cool if they could have done rooted hair. I'll wait to see them in the stores before jumping although I'd like to have Wonder Woman just for the new articulated body.

Titans Return Brainstorm Revealed On Newest Art Leak?

We're rapidly approaching Toy Fair time, and the sources of the various cropped, modified photos and art pieces must be aware of this since we're getting something of a blowout of everything they've been holding back. The newest is a lower body shot of a robot that seems to share details with the previously seen Blurr, but in colors that could be consistent with Brainstorm. A Brainstorm recolor/retool of Blurr was rumored some time ago. Maybe this is confirmation? Keep reading and check it out.

Wonder Festival Winter 2016: Figmas

*inhales*

OK, time to take on the elephants in the room, starting with the every popular figma releases!!

The biggest news was of figma #300! (yes, there have been 300 of these things now...) and it was announced that Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay Night will be the one to occupy the position! Hah! And you thought it would be yet another Hatsune Miku release!! Truthfully, so did I. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong! That's not to say that there were no Miku releases though, She appears as part of the GoodSmile Company bike racing promotion and fans of older Vocaloids will be glad to see that Meiko will be getting a figma release as well.

Idolm@ster and Love Live! took up a large chunk of space but I think the series with the biggest representation would be Berserk... and some of those releases really stretch the definition of Figma. I mean, just look at the one with Femto in the egg, or Void!! I don't think they even look poseable but they are labelled as figma so maybe we don't see the whole picture! They weren't the only "WTF" figmas on display either! Check out the Fish mecha enemy from Darius. Definitely not what you'd usually see in the figma line. Or the Figma Ted. Yes, Ted. As in the foul mouthed moving teddy bear from the film of the same name! There's going to be a figma of him! Max Factory will also be extending the Table Museum line of Figmas with the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo Da Vinci as well as the cherubim which you see in numerous works.

As for more "traditional" releases, we get to see a figma of Hentai Kamen!!! ...I'll let you do a double take on that but yes, there's going to be a figma of Hentai Kamen... But for me, the two standouts (well, three) were of Figma Haruna from Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio (complete with baggy coat and Kirishima!) and Zero Suit Samus Aran! The figma seems to be based off her Other M design so don't expect bright yellow heels on her feet like in Smash 4 or the Amibo. There were also placeholders for a new Samus Aran Figma and Takao to stand with Haruna.

I'll be getting Takao and Zero Suit Samus as a matter of course and I might go for Haruna as well. As for the new Samus Aran Figma, I'll keep an eye on it but the placeholder says that it's based off her look in Metroid Prime 3, which I am not a real fan of... But I'll probably get it anyway, just to complete the set. Is anyone else excited for any of these figmas? Or are you all burned out for them now?
