Get your grass or electric Pokemon ready: Bandai has an exclusive Misty figure on the way
Bandai of Japan continues its line of Pokemon gym leaders with a web-exclusive Misty.
Although Misty plays a prominent role in the Pokemon anime, in the original games she was just a minor roadblock who you needed to overcome for the Water Badge which enabled you to use the Cut HM outside of battle. Much like the previously revealed Brock, this figure is based on her less iconic game incarnation. Unlike Brock, I have about zero interest in this figure.
Misty's Red/Blue sprite was never the best-looking of the gym leader bunch and the pose doesn't look that much better in figure form. Likewise, the low-end prize figure quality isn't doing the figure any favors especially when you consider the ¥3,456 price tag and the fact that you'll need to go through a third party to pick it up. Hopefully Bluefin Distribution will someday localize this (and thus cut down on part of the cost), but I wouldn't put my money on it.
Pre-orders apparently run until October 30th (again, it's a web exclusive so you'll need a third party service) and it's slated to ship in January. Given that Bandai is going sequentially, next up will be Lt. Surge (in that silly crouching pose) followed by Erika. In short, we'll be waiting a while for Sabrina (or Giovanni, if that's your thing).

Beats Series Part 5 Resin Figures by Patrick Wong
Top selling toys in Japan for week of 8/17 to 8/23
The universe is clearly broken. An adult figure has ranked as one of the top toys in Japan. And when I say adult I don't mean cast off bikini tops and whatnot, I'm talking a figure doing things that we can't post here (but can link to) in graphic detail. Literally a sex toy. Figures like this aren't incredibly uncommon, but to see one do better than three Gundam kits? Now that's uncommon!
Overall
- (→) Yo-Kai Watch U1 Prototype (Bandai)
- (New) Transformers Unite Warriors UW02 Menasor (Takara Tomy)
- (↓) Yo-Kai Watch Yo-Kai Medal Busters Vol. 2 (Bandai)
- (↓) Shuriken Sentai Ninninger DX Lion Haoh (Bandai)
- (↑) Yo-Kai Watch Gerabo Busters vol.1 (Bandai)
Hobby
- (New) S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Agito Ground Form (Bandai)
- (New) Skytube Tougetsu Matsuri (Alphamax)
- (New) Gundam Reconguista in G 1/144 HG G-Self (Perfect Pack Equipment Type) (Bandai)
- (↓) Gundam Seed 1/144 RG Gundam Astray Red Frame (Bandai)
- (↑) PG 1/60 RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (Bandai)
A brand new Gundam kit from a brand new Gundam series debuts lower than a Skytube figure. That really speaks volumes. Then again Unicorn Gundam found its way back into the top five despite not even being on the July monthly results. Maybe it was just a bad week for hobby figures overall? I do like seeing more Transformers on the list so that's great.

You got: Nendoroid Mega Man preview gallery! And pre-orders!
Kahotan has posted a preview gallery for Good Smile Company's upcoming Nendoroid (classic-series) Mega Man and -- SPOILER ALERT! -- he's totally adorable. Oh, and did I mention he's available for pre-order?
Nendoroid Mega Man may not include any style changes, but he comes fully packed with 3 possible face plates (normal, shouting, and "taking damage"), an interchangeable buster cannon arm, a 3-pellet buster cannot shot, a charged buster cannon shot, an E-Tank, and -- if you buy him from the GSC store -- a "death effect" sheet which can attach to his stand.
Mega (or Rock) is a bit more articulated than the average Nendoroid, as he sports joints in his elbows and knees for additional poseability. This enables some fun poses such as the leaping buster shot or, perhaps even cooler, the damage pose.
GSC is quickly establishing itself as a go-to source for classic gaming characters, having already shown off an impressive Nendoroid Kirby and having the Nendoroid Majora's Mask Link on the way. While release after release of these icons is great news for gamers, wallets are bound to suffer.
Nendoroid Mega Man can be pre-ordered now for around a ¥4,444 list price. Expect to see him release around January.
