The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide
It’s no big secret that the Star Wars universe is kind of terrifying. Alien crime lords, a couple of Sith running the galaxy, no apparent career options for women beyond stripper, princess, or stripper princess, technology that can blow up a planet…and countless wild and dangerous creatures. Is there life beyond Earth? In the Star Wars universe, there is SO MUCH LIFE that you’re at constant risk of running into extremely dangerous creatures — on rainforest planets, desert planets, ice planets, random asteroids, and the Death Star ...

Anime Expo x Culture Japan
Anime Expo and I have been working on this years program guide for the past few weeks and its finally done! The artwork was directed by myself and put together by my illustrator Pinakes. The artwork features Anime Expo's mascot character Max with our Culture Japan character Mirai Suenaga in her Solar Marine Suit.
This announcement was made on the AX website earlier today. You can grab the 1920 x 1080 HD version of this wallpaper from the AX website.
And here is the portrait version. In the foreground we have Retrokyu conveniently guarding Max's booty.
And here is a larger version of the portrait for those of you with bigger screens. If you want a bigger version with transparency - you can download it from my Flickr in PNG format - its 2374px x 2672px.
The whole piece was constructed with Sai and Photoshop.
Do make sure you grab a copy of the program guide! I'll be signing em if you want at my panel.

SIC Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba is looking rather beastly
The SIC line used to take a lot of liberties with the original Kamen Rider designs, drawing out the organic and mechanical nature of the rider. As of late, they haven't deviated too far from the original suit but I'm absolutely in love with what they've done with Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo. Given his animal roots, I love how they really integrated that spirit into the design for this release.
As you look through the gallery, you can really see how they let loose with his design. The claws are actually paws instead of just some blades on his forearm. I'm kind of scared as to how the optional grasshopper-based legs will work, but at least they look great. As for his other accessories, he'll include the Medajalibur, 3 medals as well as the 3 core medals.
SIC Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba form will be released this September for the price of 6,000 yen. The price seems a tad high to me, but I think the looks alone will sell me on it. Pre-orders look to be opening soon, so we'll keep you posted as to when it's ready to go.

S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah is well...monstrous
While I've yet to get my hands on one, I'm glad to see the S.H. MonsterArts line continuing to get better. We've talked about him before, but Monster Zero will finally see his release soon. The golden, thousand-year-old dragon now has his full assortment ready, with S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah making his way to pre-order pages soon.
As for what you'll get other than a monstrously-sized 3-headed dragon, well, just a few bits actually. Included is a Tamashii Act stand, which will hold up to 3 breath attacks. The size is worth going over, as it approaches a solid foot in height due to the wings. Articulation isn't ignored here either, the tails are poseable, just as Godzilla's was. What you will need to do is make room for your wallet, as SHMA King Ghidorah will retail for 9,800 yen when he's released in September. Not a bad deal considering what you get, but I'd be squeamish too about a giant golden 3-headed dragon myself.

Bandai invites you to have your cake and Saber too
Bandai knows you love cake. Bandai knows you love Saber. Why not combine the two into an endeavor that will be sure to bring in all of those cake dollars. As of yesterday, Bandai has opened up orders for its latest edition of the Chara Shoku line, the Fate/Zero Saber tea cake.
The figure itself is rather standard fare with a pose we've seen numerous times already. I like the windswept hair, but that's about it. Saber's head can look down so I guess that will count for something on this figure. Saber's on the small side, standing only at 13 cm tall. Considering that the cost of this Saber cake combo is 4,400 yen, that's not too bad of a price.
If you find yourself more interested in the cake, be saddened as it's a Premium Bandai exclusive. It will not survive the journey across the Pacific, but maybe you can just ask your proxy nicely and they'll send you the film topper. If anything, just take Saber's sword and cut yourself a piece of an ice cream cake. That'll probably be money better spent than this combo anyway.
This begs the question though. What combination could they possibly make for you to actually order a cake from overseas?
