Wonder Festival 2015 Summer: Wonderful Hobby Life For You
Wonder Festival has come and gone. While it's odd to me that such a big event is one day only (wouldn't it be awesome to have a full weekend?), it doesn't make me any less excited about all the new figures at the show.
Good Smile Company and all the manufacturers under their umbrella had their customary Wonderful Hobby Life For You display. And this year's booth was a doozy (although that's probably true of every year):
- Another Nendoroid Link! This one is in the traditional style whereas the previous one was based on his Wind Waker design.

- To Love-Ru Darkness's Nana Astar Deviluke by Max Factory. I love their sexy wedding dress figures.
- More Nendoroid Avengers: Iron Man Mark 43, Captain America, and Thor

This is just a sample of the massive amount of figures at the booth. My urge to collect has never been higher! There are way more figures to check out from Hobby Search's coverage (first page, second page, third page). You'll probably have to clear some time off your schedule to see all the photos, though.

Wonder Festival 2015 Summer: Log Horizon finally gets its first figure
Let's take a moment and look at what Log Horizon has going for it:
- Nine light novel volumes and counting
- 11 manga volumes between four different titles, all ongoing
- Two anime seasons totaling 50 episodes (and a good chance for a third)
And yet not one company has made a single official figure for the series. That's has to be an oversight of the highest level. I can't imagine what has been holding companies back; I certainly don't think it was creator Mamare Touno who has been all about fan interaction.
But along comes Aquamarine (with an assist from Good Smile Company) to finally make an official Log Horizon figure a reality! Not surprising the figure is fan favorite diminutive assassin Akatsuki. And it's a good looking likeness, though I'm not entirely sure what the pose is supposed to be. Looks like she's supposed to be interacting with another figure, especially the way she's looking way off to her right. You never know, if we're lucky we'll get a Shiroe figure to go with her. The figure was actually announced a year ago at Wonder Festival 2014 Summer, leaving its fate unclear. She only just showed up as a pre-order a few days ago. It's a shame no one else has announced other figures in that time.
Unfortunately the lack of competition means this 1/7 scale figure (which is only 190cm/7.41 inches tall because she's so short) is priced at ¥13,800 and you'll still have to wait until December for her to arrive.
