BotCon 2015: First look at Fan Built Combiner Victorion
USA Today was given the first look at Transformers combiner Victorion through a few comic panels from IDW. The results of Hasbro's Fan Built Combiner poll ended in an all-female Autobot combiner from the Sea of Rust with gravitation powers. Her torso will be a retool of Protectobot Hot Spot, two of her limbs will be retooled from the Aerialbot Alpha Bravo mold, and at least one of the remaining limbs (though probably both) will use the Stunticon Dead End mold. Also not shown is the sixth member, a Legends class motorcycle that will certainly be a Protectobot Groove remold.
I like it, but there are some things I think could have been done differently. First I'm not so sure about trying to make the limbs symmetric. Sure symmetry works for regular bots, but in a combiner like this you end up with basically two sets of twins. I'm also not thrilled with the colors. The poll results were for rust colors, but the orange seems to have a pink tint to it. People are also pointing out her Gundam-esque head wings, but I can take it or leave it. At least she has a mouth and eye visor so she isn't completely looking like a Gundam.
Full reveal is expected to be at SDCC (it's almost here!) along with release plans. Should be interesting to see what kind of magic Hasbro works to make those male molds look like ladies.

BotCon 2015: Is Hasbro secretly teasing Titan Wars in the future?
Well this was unexpected. Near the Hasbro booth at BotCon was a large poster advertising Combiner Wars showing off all of the Combiners of the series including the first look at Bruticus. But hidden around the text was an unexpected Easter egg of recognizable figure blueprints along with the text "Titan Wars". With Titans being the massive figures like 24 inch Metroplex and 18 inch Devastator you can probably guess what was hidden in there.
Can you say "Fortress Maximus"? But he's not alone as he looks to be retaining his double Headmasters with Spike and Cerebros. It looks like his bot mold will be a combination of his original G1 look and his updated non-city bot IDW comic look complete with giant tank treads on his back. He'll most certainly be the same size as Metroplex!
Next figure is a huge surprise: Blaster! Yeah, what's assumed to be a massive figure of Blaster that turns into both a boombox with huge speakers and some sort of fortress mode. We know that Hasbro is planing some of the cassette bots as Legends figures, starting with Buzzsaw, so maybe Blaster isn't content with just keeping them in his chest anymore? But don't expect Blaster to be retooled into Soundwave any time soon; rumor has it it's CW Voyager class Optimus Prime that's getting retooled based on his recent appearance in comics.
The third figure is an unknown; a space shuttle headmaster. The head does have a lot of Optimus Prime key design features to it, but looks angry and the body doesn't really look like Optimus at all. The head's humanoid form doesn't look like anything familiar either so the entire figure is a real mystery. The head does have a different look from Brainstorm's humanoid form or even the Spike figure shown on the poster so he might even be bigger and more articulated which would make the big guy at least bigger than a Voyager. Leader class maybe? Probably also turns into a base or something. Looks pretty cool whatever he is.
There were also a number of small vehicles that the head figures seem to be driving around in, probably included with the larger figures. Hopefully we'll be seeing all of these, or at least get some better teasers, at SDCC in a few weeks!
All of the images come from Seibertron and only a small selection are mirrored in the gallery. Head over there to see far more pictures of the poster!
