I don't know if Kidrobot has any sales in North Korea ... but I don't think they will anytime soon with their SDCC 2015 debut, Baby Huey. Yes, this is Frank Kozik's handiwork, as the legendary artist with a penchant for satirizing pop culture is at it again. This time, he's turned a certain world leader into a 8-inch-tall crying baby (and one that seems to have soiled himself), with a death rattle and missile as toys in his hands.

Baby Huey is debuting at SDCC and will be releasing August 6 for US$65. He'll also be in blue and pink versions. It's pretty typical Kozik fare here, but one that I'm sure his fans will enjoy. What say you?

Not long after showing off their fully painted Cupola figure, Maketoys has posted a new product page showing a prototype piece for their figure Iron Will, based on the Headmaster Hardhead. The pictures show this figure in both modes, as well as showing that Iron Will and Cupola's head-robot figures can be comfortably seated in Cupola's car mode. Presumably a Brainstorm or High Brow may not be far behind, but personally I'd be more interested to see Decepticon headmasters start seeing this treatment. Keep reading for the pictures!

I just love it when I can combine a love for Victorian dresses with a love for crafting with wool felt. Such was the case last week as I was working on several new patterns and handmade Victorian wool felt ornaments with embroidery and embellishments.

A beautiful pair of 2 Victorian wool felt dress ornaments that were hand embellished with embroidery, ribbon, lace trims and beadwork.

The dress ornaments are 4" by 5 1/2" each.

Waltz Thru The Night Blue Belles Wool Felt Victorian Embroidered And Embellished Dress Ornament Pattern - Victorian Dresses Series - Pattern Category - Skill Level - Beginner 

Waltz Thru The Night Blue Belles is a pattern to create two 4" by 5 1/2" embroidered and embellished Victorian wool felt dress ornaments.

Each felt dress piece is embroidered to the felt background and each felt dress overskirt piece is embroidered to it’s respective felt dress piece. Embroidery, lace trims, seed beads, and other embellishments are sewn to the dresses and overskirt pieces.

The base and back lining are blanket stitch embroidered along the edges.  The lazy daisy flowers are embellished with beads.

The pattern includes text instructions, step-by-step color diagrams for finishing each wool felt Victorian dress ornament from start to finish, general layout sheets for each dress and full page single sided pattern piece sheets. The pattern also includes step-by-step illustrations and instructions for Blanket Stitching and Basic Chain Stitch & Lazy Daisy Flower Instructions.

Kidrobot's done plush before, but not quite like this. Instead of original creations like Frank Kozik's Labbit or Heidi Kenney's Yummy characters, Kidrobot is jumping headfirst into the licensed plush world with their new Gremlins Phunny line.

First off, let's talk about the Phunny plush series, which appears to use the Munny and Dunny body styles as a baseline. These are 8 inches tall, releasing in August, and are retailing for US$16.99 each. The designs seem to be similar to more recent Dunny series, in that there's a base body but plenty of individual detail rather than trying to wrap a design around an established shape.

For the first series of Phunnys, Kidrobot has gone with an appropriate licensing choice: Gremlins, specifically Gizmo, Stripe and Mohawk. It's probably a smart one, too: I'd expect that Gizmo is going to be the big seller of the three, though Stripe and Mohawk will have their fans, too. Anyone out there like the designs and are considering picking one (or more) up?
