Who ya gonna call? HULKBUSTER!
Diamond Select Toys' Marvel Select Hulkbuster Iron Man is currently available for pre-order. DST has also released a photo gallery showing the figure throw down with the MS Hulk in NYC.
Long-time comic fans (and now movie fans) will recall that the Hulkbuster is one of Tony Stark's (ie, Iron Man) many specialized armors. This one is specifically designed to take down the Hulk should he get out of control and, offhand, I can't recall ever being all that successful (such as when it was torn off Iron Man during World War Hulk). Maybe the armor will work better in Avengers: Age of Ultron... but I doubt it.
The Hulkbuster is billed as standing 8.5-inches tall and featuring 16 points of articulation (meaning it's a good size to throw down with the MS Hulk, MS Abomination, MS Juggernaut, etc... hey, will we ever get a MS Wendigo?). It's a supremely good-looking figure with a solid sculpt that seems to sport a cool glossy paint-job. If you haven't picked up a Hulkbuster so far (4-inch scale doesn't count!), this might be a great choice.
DST's MS Hulkbuster can be pre-ordered for US$25 and is slated for a July release.

Top selling toys in Japan for week of 4/20 to 4/26
By now we should be used to Bandai owning these top lists so I won't harp on that any more. Instead we'll focus on what's actually made the lists rather than who made them. Like last week the overall list matches the boys list which can be found on Toynes.jp (not an archived page, it updates weekly).
Overall
- (New) DX Yo-Kai Watch Fumi-chan Ver. (Bandai)
- (New) Shuriken Sentai Ninninjer DX Bison King (Bandai)
- (→) Shuriken Sentai Ninninjer Ninja Ichibantou (Bandai)
- (New) Yo-Kai Watch Yo-Kai Medal Season 1 Recreation (Bandai)
- (↓) Shuriken Sentai Ninninjer DX Shurikenjin (Bandai)
Hobby
- (New) S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type Speed (Bandai)
- (New) HG 1/144 Char's Zaku II (Bandai)
- (New) HGBF 1/144 Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth Type.GBFT (Bandai)
- (New) Gundam FIX Figuration Metal Composite RX78-2 Gundam THE ORIGIN [Re:PACKAGE] (Bandai)
- (New) Star Wars 1/48 X-Wing Starfighter Moving Edition (Bandai)
All kinds of new stuff making the list this week. Ninninjer's new bot looks to be a real cowboy. Feels like every time we've seen a new Kamen Rider SHF comes out they pop to the top of the hobby list. Of course Gundam is still the dominant force in that category, but it's been a long time since we've seen any hobby figures crack the overall list. It's also nice to see Star Wars return again, really speaks volumes of its popularity when we've seen few American properties on the list.
Next week? Who knows, but I bet it'll be a lot of Sentai, Gundam, and Yo-Kai Watch.

Take a look at BotCon 2015's complete box set
BotCon 2015 is a little over a month away so let's see what's in store for their box set, Cybertron: Most Wanted. The story takes place on Axiom Nexus, a Cybertronian hub city at the center of the Transformers multiverse. Thanks to its unique placement it's home to and visited by Transformers from every universe. So of course if you're going to have a box set take place there you'll also need a ragtag group of bots representing those universes and it's quite the notorious lot.
- The Thief - Packrat: Representing Beast Wars comes Packrat, a character that first debuted as a BotCon 1997 exclusives in the form of a repaint of the original BW Rattrap figure. The Maximal and sometimes Wrecker gets a new figure based on the recent Rattrap figure from 2014.
- The Muscle - Battletrap: From G1 comes the Decepticon Duocon. The original figure was made from a combination of a gray helicopter and a blue pickup truck, but for simplicity sake was often represented as a Triplechanger. Fitting then that he's a repaint of Generations Springer featuring a new head sculpt.
- The Loose Canon - Stepper: The evil Autobot from the Shattered Glass universe. This one is going to take a little while to explain. In 1987 Takara supplemented their Targetmaster figures with a slight remold of the original G1 Jazz figure named Stepper. When this figure was finally reissued in 2004 it found its way outside of Japan for the first time and given the name Ricochet by Hasbro. At BotCon 2008 we got a SG Ricochet figure that we thought was based on the renamed Stepper, but now we know that wasn't the case. The new SG Stepper is the true opposite of the original G1 Stepper utilizing the Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz mold featuring a reversed color scheme and a true Target Master partner named Nebulon.
- The Boss - Megatron: Out of the Transformers Movieverse is Megatron, based on his appearance in the third movie Dark of the Moon. Not only is this the first time BotCon has made a figure based directly on the movies, but also the fist time this Japanese mold, Transformers Prime Silas Breakdown (or any of it's other variations), has been used by Hasbro, now with a new head sculpt.
- Megatron isn't alone as he'll also bring along a trio of Arms Microns. Scalpel, a praying mantis that turns into a bladed weapon, actually comes from the movies as well. Plus newbies Boombox, a gorilla that turns into a black canon, and Heavyweight, a round bot that turns into a pink ball and chain; both based on weapons of G1 Megatron.
- The Bounty Hunter - Oilmaster: This is the first time we've gotten an entirely new figure from BotCon. Oilmaster is based on an unreleased prototype for a Pretender figure of a gorilla that would have housed two robots instead of one. This "Double Pretender" never saw the light of day, but its prototype was first put on display at BotCon 1996. The prototype was never named, but years later he was named for Japanese Transformers blogger and gorilla-bot fan Abura Choujin (very roughly "Oil Master"). His inner bots are repaints of Legends class Swerve and partner Micromaster Flanker with colors based on Oilmaster's Japanese e-HOBBY comic appearance. Oddly his weapons come from Construct-Bots.
It's a very eclectic mix of characters consisting of two Deluxe class, to Voyager class, and something all together new. So far Battletrap has been the one fans are most interested in, being a much asked for update to a G1 fan favorite. The convention itself will see more figures offered up for sale with speculation going towards Generations Blitzwing being repainted into Battletrap's partner Flywheels. Also speculated is a recently surfaced green repaint of Generations Roadbuster that bares a strong resemblance to the unreleased prototype General Optimus Prime.
If you want the set you'll have to do some saving. The price for both attendees and non-attendees at US$409 for club members and US$509 for non-members. However, those attending will also receive an additional mystery figure for the box set and the option to buy more characters available only at the convention. If that sounds like a lot (and it is) then take a look at the Golden Ticket add on for an additional US$400, plus a Frank Welker VIP pass for another US$200 and the customizing class for US$120 more. That puts the full BotCon experience at US$1,129 for club members (excluding convention-only figure purchases). Nobody said being a Transformers super fan was cheap!
