Fresh #BATMAN Toy and #JOKER Product News for 2015
Anyone who has been reading the BAT-BLOG for any amount of time knows that we are obsessed with all the fun Batman merchandise out there and we are always reporting everything we come across. Sometimes it's almost overwhelming, at certain times there is just so much!
Well, check out these 2 fun bat-items! The first bit of news is about this "Batman Mini-Skateboard" by Tech Deck (some toy collectors call these "Fingerboards") that are in stores now. This photo was sent to us by a good friend named Jerrmin. I have not seen these yet so, hey, thank you Jerrmin!
Next up is a weird and wacky "Batman item" that is sort-of related to the Joker. We say "sort-of" because it is not an official product but more of a bootleg or "swipe", as some Graphic Artists call it. Here are some Mural Art and Craft Paints being sold with a graphic that was lifted from some promo comic book art of the Joker done by the legendary Neal Adams.

Tweeterhead shared some photos with us the other day giving us an idea of what the next Batman '66 Statue is gonna look like. It will be the wonderful "Dynamo Doll" herself, BATGIRL!!
Yes, the Yvonne Craig version of the character is coming out later and we totally love these 2 pics showing the prototype stages of development. I mean, this Marquette Statue already looks great and we know the finished product will be amazing!

There's a Cindy Crawford Barbie doll and it is not for sale
Instagram is the medium of the moment for lots of celebrities and professionals alike: it's so much easier to share a photo of something you're doing or your newest creation than writing about it or staging an elaborate presentation. Especially if it can reach thousands of people in an instant. It is not surprising then that it has become the social arena of choice for fashion people. most notably stylists and models. Cindy Crawford is one of the original 90s supermodels that is active on the platform. Just the other day she posted a photo of a Barbie made to look like her:
Since there was nothing published about the doll from Mattel, I did a little on-line search and came up with the goods: the doll is an OOAK creation, It was presented to Cindy way back in 2003 at the CAAF (Children Affected By AIDS Foundation) benefit in Santa Monica, California. The doll is dressed in a Roberto Cavalli gown, the same one Cindy was wearing during the event.
I don't know what made Cindy remember the doll after all this time and post it again (in the text accompanying the instagram post she mentions loving Barbies as a child), but it sure made me wish for a series of dolls in the likeness of supermodels from that era: Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz etc. They would be the ultimate fashion dolls. One can only hope. And it doesn't have to be Mattel making them. Looking at you Integrity Toys.

Kat Brunnegraff returns with Cloud Crystal Cuties
Kat Brunnegraff has been kept busy rather recently, but she's had enough time to announce a new project on Kickstarter, Cloud Crystal Cuties. Yes, they're plushes, all done in Kat's usual fantasy style, complete with big ol' eyes and lots of hand-stuffed plushiness.
Initially, Beam the Bear (who you see above) is the first plush that will be made, and the initial funds will go toward a first run of 500 plushes. However, she's also set up some stretch goals to fund adding light-up elements to Beam, and for three more characters: Luna the Rabbit, Keiko the Kitty, and Marina the Otter. Marina, in particular, is incredibly adorable and who doesn't love otter plushes?
The Kickstarter is set to end April 23 with a US$10,000 goal; the pledge levels featuring the plushes start at US$20. Check out the page for Cloud Crystal Cuties for even more info and photos.
