put your wind-up toys to artistic use
Do you have a junk drawer/box/bin specifically for your kids? I optimistically named Birdie’s her Treasure box. When in fact, it’s the place where all her mini, random, not-so-useful bits end up. Like spare parts from a toy I can’t find at the moment, dice, pretty rocks, and some wind-up chicks from the Easter bunny. But […]

Get in the game with the NES Gremlins 2 Mohawk
NECA recently released some official product images for its upcoming Gremlins 2: The New Batch video game Mohawk. The most amusing of this images puts the figure in the game itself.
Fans may recall that the 1990 video game was an okay cash-in on a beloved sequel. Unlike the Gameboy version, the NES game was actually fun. While I'm basically guaranteed to pick this figure up, I still wish that we were getting the Machine Gun Mohawk in his original colors because, as I mentioned in the Toy Fair coverage, this is a repaint of a figure that was never released.
That said, there's a certain amount of nostalgia involved for me with these one as I think I might even still own my original cartridge. It's especially relevant given the game-themed packaging which I imagine I would probably wind up saving.
NECA's Mohawk is slated for a July release and will run you around US$20.

A Call to Action (Figures): Amiibos
I first saw an amiibo in action two weeks ago. I was over my friend Dan’s house and we were playing Super Smash Brothers while we were waiting for WWE Fastlane to start, and he tapped a little Samus figurine on a circle on his controller. A new computer player popped up on the bottom […]
