It's been less than two weeks since we got our first look at Takara Tomy's Transformers Masterpiece Tracks and things appear to be moving along quickly. Already we're being treated to some full color images of the Ark's resident narcissist thanks to Kapow Toys and he's looking pretty great! He's a perfect package, far exceeding every Tracks figure that has come before. He has his compact robot mode, a super sleek Corvette Stingray mod, and can still take on a flight mode now featuring tail fins from the cartoon! I guess Tracks isn't the only one who thinks he looks beautiful.
And it's not just the figure you're getting, check out the accessories! Stingrays are pretty narrow little cars so they appear to be packing him with some cool stuff instead of dropping the price and I'm fine with that. We're getting a mini figure of Track's breakdancing pal Raoul (where are our Chip Chase and Carly figures?), a tiny, little (ghetto) Blaster, and a flight stand, something we've only ever seen come with the Seeker Jets.
No release dates or prices just yet, but I'm counting on him being one of the big late 2015 releases like Bumblebee and Wheeljack last year. Now that he's gotten this far hopefully we'll have pre-orders and better pictures soon enough!
NEW TRANSFORMERS RID FIGURES! We have several new figures in the Robots in Disguise line. In the Series 03 Legion figures we have Underbite and Fixit priced at $23.99, and in the Hyper Change Series 02 we have Optimus Prime and Steeljaw priced at $44.99. You will also find some new Rescue Bots and RID Tiny Titans available.
Move over, TFYuki - there's new Star Saber photographers on the scene! While the official release date is still a little later this month, some early copies of Masterpiece Star Saber have turned up in collector hands, and via fengqiaoken of ACToys and Weibo user oldcasper we've got several shots showing off the figure, its functions, modes, and details. We'll likely see a few more shots like these before the actual release of the toy brings all kinds of photographers to the table. We reported previously on Combiner Wars including pack-in comic issues starting with the second assortment of Deluxes. What we didn't know until today was that the back page of each comic features a long-form character bio. Each is written as a report from either Autobot "Psy-Ops Specialist" Rung, or Soundwave and are written with some interesting details - especially in Offroad's case. Early adopters of wave 1 may have even more incentive now to double dip when the reships of those figures take place. Keep reading to see scans.
