C2E2 2012: DC Collectibles
As mentioned earlier, C2E2 was the first event for the new DC Collectibles name, and they had quite a bit in their booth beyond Ame-Comi and The Dark Knight Rises. Also worth noting at their booth were figures for the upcoming (and controversial simply because it exists) Beyond Watchmen series featuring Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach and The Comedian; DC and Mad Magazine's collaborative "Just-us League of Stupid Heroes" series featuring Alfred E. Neuman dressed as different DC characters; and a series of figures from the new Green Lantern animated series featuring Atrocitus, Saint Walker and Hal Jordan. There's also a teaser for an amazing looking Dark Knight Returns statue of Superman and Batman duking it out.
Tian also went to the DC Collectibles panel during the show, and found out the following bits of info:
- - They'll be making stuff for all DC properties, not just their comics, hence the Mad magazine and the Dark Knight Rises stuff.
- - Their DC Comics superhero figures will be focused on The New 52. Superman and Wonder Woman busts were announced but weren't at the show. Wonder Woman comes out September 2012, Superman in October 2012.
- - There are a ton of Batman: Arkham City action figures incoming, including Ra's Al Ghul, Azrael, Penguin, Joker thug, Batman, Mr. Freeze, Titan Joker (June 2012), Killer Croc (June 2012). The panelists didn't rule out the possibility of adding to the lineup.
- - There was a teaser for figures for The Man of Steel but no actual reveals.
- - In general the panelists had the attitude that any and all DC properties would be fair game for DC Collectibles, though they didn't comment on specific "will you make so and so" type questions.

See OsiRisOrion's new piece for Candy Coated Custom Show!
OsiRisOrion tossed us an email with his latest custom that will be appearing at the upcoming Candy Coated Custom Show. Called the Sweet Demon, it has the body of an eight inch Dunny, but the flesh of a bad-ass monster! It shows off what I like so much about OsiRis' work: bright colors with a vicious-looking demonic aesthetic. This guy looks like it'll tear the limb off of anything that gets close to it! I also like the dual faces on the Sweet Demon. Be sure to check out the pictures OsiRis included in our gallery.
What do the Tomopeeps think of Sweet Demon here? Any of you guys out there like him as much as I do?

[NSFW] More Nurse confusion with this Erika gallery
I'm beginning to think Beat really has zero idea what the word "nurse" actually implies. First we had the disturbingly busy Hotaru-chan, but apparently one insane fetish figure isn't enough or Beat! Now, they're bringing us the fiery redhead Erika as well, whoever she might be.
She looks even more over the top than Hotaru-chan, to be honest, and I'm not entirely sure if I can find any real appeal in this one or not. On the one hand, I do like the crisp white and black excuse for a uniform, and I can never say no to a redhead, and yet...No. I don't know what Beat's trying to pull off with these girls, and I'm not terribly sure I want to find out, either.
Take a look at this Akiba Hobby gallery and see what you think. Any sort of appeal out there at all?

Pre-Order Final Fantasy Theatrhythm for 3DS, Get A Customizable Stylus.
This is kinda’ cool, I guess, but when will companies wise up and realize their special styluses — no matter how cool looking — are useless. Seriously, does anyone even use these things? The 3DS has a built-in stylus holder for a reason: people hate carrying around extra shit.
That being said, I’m totally pre-ordering the game just so I can get one.

P4's Yukiko is going to laugh her way into your home!
I love galleries! I really do. When you have a figure pre-ordered and someone has a review sample that they shoot numerous photos of before you can get your hands on what you ordered, it makes me that much more excited!
That being said, THAT BELLY LAUGH! Oh my gosh. I can't believe I debated cancelling my pre-order now that I see so many shots of that adorable freaking laugh she has! She comes with several accessories that are equally cool, but that laugh wins me over completely. Check out the gallery to see all of the amazing shots from Akiba Hobby!
