Toy Fair 2015: Hasbro - Marvel Legends
Ultron, Rhino, Wasp, Kraven, Chameleon, Ghost Rider, Hulkbuster Iron Man, and Vision were among the slew of Marvel Legends that Hasbro showed off in its press briefing. Lego reveals UCS Tie Fighter: promises they won't get shot down before release
New York Toy Fair gave Lego a platform to show off its new (and long rumored) Ultimate Collector Series TIE Fighter. I would assume it's taken this long to produce the regular TIE Fighter because of its enormous wings/ends. The video below gives some clarity on the design process for that specifically, and seems pretty clever (hint, a Lego locking system).
Now, the only issue I'm having with it is the lack of roundness on the hull. That's to be expected since...well, it's Lego. These are made on straight edges, not usually round. But, I would have liked a little more round pieces for an official release; this instead looks like a fun MOC. I'm not sure this is "in scale" with the X-Wing or anything, though scale isn't really something Lego gives too much thought. The pilot included looks pretty standard, but comes with detailing on his arms (which is a nice, new touch).
It's 18 inches high (12 inches wide and long), and comes with a stand so you can pose it in flight! Admittedly, clear pieces would have been a better choice; though Lego picked the black stands a while ago and stuck to it. 1685 pieces and a $199.99 price tag works out to roughly $0.11 a piece. That's a tad higher than the sweet spot of $0.10 a piece, and with the larger sets it's usually way lower. The cost of the Star Wars license rears its head once again. This set lands in May, concordant with the now-annual "May the Fourth" Lego celebration.

Spring will get here eventually right? It has to be on it’s way, at some point. Even though so much of the country is blanketed in snow and cold and windy gray days right now, when I see sweet things like these toys from Willowynn, I have a little hope! Willowynn’s toys are handmade using […]
