Wonder Festival 2015 Winter: X-Plus
X-Plus drops some new and old figures, making a great impression this year. Some wacky stuff here, folks. Let's break the diverse range down a bit.
The vinyl masters are offering another chance for some high demand figures in Biollante (who will light up) and her corresponding Godzilla (1989) in the Large Monster Series. From what I hear, these will be exclusive to X-Plus's RIC-Toy site. The recently released King Ghidorah 1968 LMS prepares for battle next to a reissued 1968 Godzilla, so chances are back if you missed him. Mothra is spotted again (this time with a sculpted egg) next to the hoped-to-finally-be-released 1964 Godzilla (look at all these team-ups). Real Master Collection Plus Gamera 1999 makes an appearance (their polyresin series of statues) as well.
Ultraman (and brothers) are getting some of their old nemeses to decapitate and blow up, and they are some of the more exciting figures shown. Ultraman Ginga's Five King in unpainted prototype form looks phenomenal; and no slouch is the painted appearance of Waiāru Seijin (Alien Waiell) from Ultraseven's second episode The Shrub from Space! My favorite reveal (another Ultraseven monster) is Dinosaur Tank. This guy looks incredible so far and I'm excited to see him fully painted (unless he already is since he's essentially just brown).
Go Nagai fans will be pleased to see X-Plus making a Getter-One (from Getter Robo), and it looks like he's coming with his insanely large guns; keep your eye on this one (heck of a dynamic pose). Dunbine (from Yoshiyuki Tomino's classic Aura Battler Dunbine) robo-broods in painted form, and is one of the design's closest representations I've seen. The soon-to-be-released Super Saiyan 3 Goku stands along side an unpainted Freiza prototype (in the Gigantic Series), which is based on his appearance in the upcoming Dragonball Z: Revival of F.
Ready to blast away the evil robots is Megaman X (or Rockman X, whatever you want), who is giving the sort of pose fans were looking for with the initial Megaman X-Plus figure (right next to him). Erza Scarlet (out soon) appears next to the debuting Lucy (in a pink bikini), from Fairy Tail. That might be a "Malibu Stacy with a new hat" deal with Lucy, as she's had some other X-Plus bikini figures, though this is 1/4 scale. Amazon from Dragon's Crown is chilling out in her classic pose, living up to her name. That axe looks righteous. And finally, The Devil is a Part-Timer's happy-go-lucky coworker Sasaki Chiho is there to remind you she is released this month.
