Combiner Wars Legends Class Rodimus Confirmed And Wavemate Revealed
The collage of character art seen prior to the UK Toy Fair tipped us off to the existence of a Legends Rodimus from the Blackjack mold, and today we have confirmation and pictures! Autobase Aichi has dug up listings from Hasbro's German website showing us Legends Rodimus, and Legends Skywarp, the anticipated fourth use of the Starscream mold. Rodimus features new sculpting for the face, and while the package shot confirms him as part of a combiner group, unfortunately which one is still unknown apart from the team being identified with a silver stripe. Botcon 2015 Toys Accidentally Leaked? Possible First Look At Five Exclusives
Pete Sinclair of Fun Publications was recently interviewed over video, and in the process seems to have let a bit too much fall in frame. Based on an enhanced screencap by well known fan Monzo, we've identified and highlighted the toys that are visible. The image is low-res, but with some work defining the edges the forms of the figures can be made out well enough. Universal Studios Japan can turn you into an Evangelion figure
3D scanners aren't anything new, Gentle Giant used them over a decade ago to make Jakks Pacific's WWF/WWE Real Scan figures. But with time comes innovation and now anyone can have a figure made of themselves if they know where to go. And if you want to see yourself as an Evangelion character in figure form then Universal Studios Japan is the place to be.
One of the many features at USJ's Evangelion the Real 4D theme park attraction that opened this weekend is a full body scanner just for turning park goers into high end figures. Sure, they're just statues, but they're pretty nice looking. Sizes range from 15 cm (5.9 inches) to 35 cm (13.7 inches) with options for cloth outfits and glasses. There's even a pilot seat.
They aren't cheap, but they're about what we usually see for this kind of custom, one-of-a-kind work.

- 20 cm (7.9 inches) - ¥38,880 (US$330) base price
- 25 cm (9.8 inches) - ¥49,680 (US$422) base price

I'm not narcissistic enough to want a figure of myself, but the technology still intrigues me. Not sure what the story is with the outfits. I assume there are Eva themed options (out side of sexy plug suit dresses and event staff uniforms). If there are no costumes and they're just scanning people in their street clothes then, well, what's the point?

By the way, I have to laugh at the Eva attraction being right next to the Sesame Street attraction.
