We all scream for Scarecrow! DCC unveils animated series Scarecrow
DC Collectibles has officially unveiled the latest entry in its latest Batman: The Animated Series line: Scarecrow!
Based on his scarier appearance in the 1997 The New Batman Adventures cartoon (the in-continuity follow-up to Batman:TAS), this version of Scarecrow was a marked departure from his more "cartoonish" previous incarnations. While DC Collectibles has done a great job capturing the rough look of the character, I can't help but feel that they fell a little short on the face. Part of the issue might be that the character was heavily shaded throughout the episode, "Never Fear" (the Scarecrow's only solo appearance in the 1997 series). In fact, that's probably why the character doesn't look dark enough.
That said, it's awesome that DC Collectibles has decided to give us a 1997-series Scarecrow. While it doesn't appear that he comes with his walking stick, I'm holding out hope that DCC will give us an alternate hand and the weapon.
Right now Scarecrow is slated for a late 2015 release as part of wave 5. And, in other news, the Ventriloquist is doing surprisingly well in DCC's fan poll. See a full image of Scarecrow (and those poll results) in the gallery.

TFormers Figure Review - Generations Combiner Wars Ultra Prime
[Update] TaoBao puts the Transformers Masterpiece rumor mill into overtime
[Update: Seibertron is reporting that a rumor going around UK Toy Fair right now is that Takara Tomy is also planning to release Masterpiece versions of tank Megatron (not the Combiner Wars version), Ratchet (of course), Shockwave, Blitzwing, and Galvatron! Remember, nothing has been said officially about any of these and they should be regarded as just rumors. It wouldn't surprise me at all if people are confusing some of these for CW figures. But it's nice to see some Decepticons mentioned again.]
Chinese web shop TaoBao put up three interesting listings that have gotten Transformers fans cautiously excited: new Masterpiece figures! With MP-23 Exhaust and MP-24 Star Saber coming in March we should be hearing about new figures soon from Takara Tomy, but this isn't how it usually happens.
Listings are as follow:
While there's nothing entirely wrong with the character listing (Tracks and Ironhide are a shoo-in eventually) there are a couple small technical problems with it. First it's very rare for Takara Tomy to plan this many MPs at the same time. It's also odd for Road Rage to be released immediately after Tracks since they share the same mold and it would be better to slip Ironhide in between to break them up like they did by sticking Bumblebee between Wheeljack and Exhaust. Also Road Rage is female and while maybe repainting a G1 Tracks figure and calling it female worked back in the day, it's going to be kinda strange for an MP. And really, we all want Ratchet before Road Rage, right? Strangely they're all listed as having an original price of ¥8,400 (even though Ironhide should be priced higher) which is quite a bit more than Wheeljack's price of ¥7,020. No release date or photos of course.
Again, it's all rumor and we won't know for sure for a while longer. We should have official word on the next MP within the next couple months.
