For the 2014 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise Hasbro gave fans a first time chance to give collective input on a new character through the Fan Built Bot Poll. In a few rounds fans answered some kinda vague questions, ultimately leading to the creation of new fembot Windblade, a character that ended up having a lasting effect on IDW's More than Meets the Eye ongoing comic series. Hasbro is bringing the poll back again in a big way!
For the 2015 Generations Combiner Wars line the new Fan Built Combiner Poll we won't be creating a single figure, but an entire five-bot team consisting on one Voyager class figure and four Deluxe class. Where the former poll took place on the internet, the new poll will take place on the upcoming Transformers app (formerly the Transformers: Age of Extinction app) and feature weekly polls in three rounds leading up to a late 2015 first look at the new team (I'm guessing at New York Comic Con) and a 2016 release. First poll date will be announced soon.
Combiner Wars is looking like one of the biggest Transformers series launches in a while. Figures are just now showing up North America, but over in Europe where the line has gotten a head start (I know, shocking) there have been reports of the figures selling out fast. I think we can expect some really good things from this set and fans have already come up with some great ideas like a Decepticon jet team, Dinobot set, an Autobot mini car set, or a Power Rangers-like team. That last one or something like it seems the most likely; if this poll is anything like the former poll they'll be looking to make an all new set of characters, not recreate existing ones.

ToyWiz have posted a new listings for the Transformers Generations Combiner Wars that reveal figures First-Aid and Rook along with their product details. We've know about these coming our way from preview reports of listing the Wal-Mart inventory, now we have the details with character profiles and all. These photos paint a much better image of the toy, showing it in more natural lighting and pose, and possibly transformed more correctly. Retailer Toywiz has posted additional stock images for the second wave of Deluxe Combiner Wars figures featuring the remaining three Stunticons and Air Raid, and for the first time we're getting a look at the packaging for the figures. From this we've learned that there will be a small redesign with wave 2 and the bonus IDW comics enjoyed since mid-2013 will be reappearing! The Transformers Facebook page has posted a graphic to promote the Fan Built Combiner initiative we reported on earlier today. While the accompanying post has no new information, what's noteworthy is the image itself. In silhouette you have a representative team of combiners, which are color-blocked toy images. ...but who's that torso? Cyber Gundam at TAG Hobby has posted updated official product shots of Masterpiece Exhaust, who has undergone some deco revisions. Previously the toy was an as accurate as possible homage to the original Diaclone "Marlboro Wheeljack", but that resulted in retailers being wanred against selling it to customers in the United States due to tobacco advertising regulations and how closely it matched Marlboro trade dress. It seems TakaraTomy themselves have taken notice and are attempting to respond to this issue. Keep reading to see more!
