S.H. Figuarts Luke Skywalker from ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’ announced by Tamashii Nations

Luke Skywalker is next for S.H. Figuarts

Well, were you on the fence about collecting S.H. Figuarts Star Wars representations? That decision just got a lot easier, as Luke Skywalker has entered the fray. I was one of those people crying out for six inch Star Wars figures for years "I'll buy them all," I said. Little did I know there would be two lines of them.

This Luke's face sculpt looks pretty great. It's funny, I think the wind-blown-hair head looks like Hamill in Episode IV. Judging from the comparison with his long-separated father, the scaling issues may still apply however. But that's why we have the Black Series, right?

From what I gather via Google Translate (my Japanese reading comprehensive is fair, but I wanted to be more than sure) it seems they are touting the digital coloring technique used on the Michael Jackson Figuarts (which, make more of those please). Darth Vader is coming soon, and if you get the first release version you'll receive a figure stand to recreate their duel at the end of Return of the Jedi (a wonderfully filmed scene). It's almost like they...thought ahead.

No price announced yet, but I would speculate around the price of the Stormtrooper...this license can't be cheap. And since it's Figuarts, you'll get the treasure trove of alternate heads and hands. Those haven't been announced or shown fully, but more as we get it. Included in the gallery is the diorama that comes with Vader.

ThreeA's Judge Death sentences you to pre-order him

ThreeA's latest 2000AD figure happens to be the one and only Judge Death, done up in 1/12-scale. The leader of the Dark Judges from an alternate universe -- a place where life is a crime and the only punishment is death -- has articulation similar to ThreeA's other 1/12-scale figures, but done with a specially sculpted body just for Judge Death. The detail work on his uniform is superb, as is that sinister grin from underneath his helmet. There's also a Comic Book Color version of Death that has him in greyscale ... but I prefer the more colorful version myself.

Judge Death is US$60 and in the Bambaland Store right now. Thinking of picking him up?

RUMOR HAS IT SPIDER-MAN WILL BE ENTERING MARVEL’S UNIVERSE IN 2018

Last year, Sony and Marvel were in talks to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The deal wasn’t ever finalized, so it was unclear where Spider-Man stood, but Marvel wanted to introduce the character in Captain America: Civil War since he’s a pretty vital part of that story arc.

Since Civil War is going into production soon, according to Latino Review the next plausible movie the hero could be introduced in would be the third Avengers movie. Latino Review is pretty much saying it: Spider-Man will definitely be in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and that the Sony deal went through with Marvel. You can read their rumor article here in which they explain in detail what could go on around the film, but beware as there are MAJOR spoilers (people dying and shit) surrounding this news.

TAKE A LOOK AT SOME ART FROM UPCOMING HARRY POTTER ILLUSTRATED EDITIONS

Today Scholastic and Bloomsbury UK have debuted four illustrations by Jim Kay for upcoming illustrated editions of the Harry Potter novels. Of course, they’ll be working on each book separately, but we can count on an illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to release on October 6. Until then, take a gander of what Jim Kay has created for the first book: wonderful illustrations of Rubeus Hagrid, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, and Ron Weasley. Pre-order Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: The Illustrated Edition on Amazon.
