#BATMAN HUMOR - Funny Parody Photos

I realize I have not posted in awhile (sorry about that) but my life has been in slight crisis. Nothing really super bad, but I have had a lot of crap to deal with so there ya go, ha! So, here's a quick post to share some funny "Batman" memes I have seen recently.

Most of them explain themselves pretty well but I gotta mention that the one down below, featuring "Darkwing Duck", is a super-great parody of Brian Bolland's cover art to the "Batman: The Killing Joker" Graphic Novel. Yes, it's a nice tribute.

Anyone who has read the BAT-BLOG for the last few years knows my complete obsession with "foreign" Batman Comic Books. Check out these 2 images I came across on the Internet awhile back that show some reprinted comics from Greece. Yes, all the way from that country and in the Greek language, so amazing! The title is AYNAMIKA!

Do YOU have any "Foreign Language" Bat-Books? If so, then please send us some pics. Thanks!

Yes, we have some sad news to report here at the BAT-BLOG and also some good news.  Norm Breyfogle, the legendary "Batman" Comic Book Artist, recently suffered a stroke. As far as I have been able to tell he is doing OK, or is stable, I guess. I don't have much info except that he is being crushed by medical bills. So, his family started a "You Caring" page to accept donations. They have collected around $51,000 so far but need much much more as his medical bill will probably be around $200,00 or so, if not more.

Anyways, here's a LINK to the DONATE PAGE and please do what you can. norm's a great guy and he should be important to all you Comic Book Collectors out there. Hey, I also know that Batman Fans are some of the best, most kind-hearted, people on the planet and many of you will step-up, so THANK YOU in advance!!

Whoops, also forgot to mention that even if you can't donate, then at lease please PLEASE share this post in your social media (Facebook, twitter, etc...) so that other people can see it. Thanks again.

Gentle Giant's potted Groot is more creepy than cute

Gentle Giant's potted Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy) is currently available for order. Based on Groot's method of respawning in the comics, this version is decidedly less adorable than the movie counterpart.

While the film notably (and I should mention that this is somewhat spoiler-y, although there's so much merch out there now that it's impossible to avoid) had Groot resurrected in a baby form (which danced!), the comics just have him as a smaller version of his normal self (as noted by Joe Moore of Toyark). So instead of being cute, this version of Groot looks a little scary.

This recently released statue comes with some optional accessories in the form of snow, a scarf, a ribbon, and Christmas lights (!!!). As such, GG's potted Groot may be one of the coolest Christmas trees of all time. While there's no listed height, I'm guessing that he's of a reasonable size.

GG's potted Groot statue can be ordered for US$120. Bring it home for next year's holidays. And, well, because.

Dragons and Kirins, oh my!

Talk about things flying under the radar: pre-orders have opened for some spectacular dragon and kirin figures.

Produced by Kaiyodo (best known for its Revoltech line), these figures are billed as being part of the "TK Project" (or, as AmiAmi describes it, "KT Project"; not to be confused with the KY Project) which has something to do with traditional Japanese art. These figures are fully articulated and even go so far as to include eye articulation, which is pretty awesome. Less awesome is the price: the dragon is listed for around ¥7,200 while the kirin will cost you something in the neighborhood of ¥6,800.

The painted/color version of the kirin is due out in January while the "iron rust" dragon is set to follow in March. The first version of the kirin, which sports a metallic deco, was released earlier in the month and is already sold out in a few places (HLJ still has it, though). While I like the look of these figures, a combination of the price tag, an already tight budget, and the fact that Kaiyodo is putting them out has made me a little hesitant to pick them up. That said, the photos are incredible. Be sure to check out the gallery.

Following a reveal at TFCon USA, we've got grey prototype shots of Sphinx, MMC's take on a G1 Mirage design scaled for your Masterpiece Autobot Cars. Unlike other recent entries in this field, Sphinx does not immediately seem to borrow noticeably from the engineering of existing toys, and gives a more stylized robot appearance that evokes the image of Mirage rather than strongly recreating the original design. Click through and check out the photos!

Toxin is another of those characters I knew almost nothing about prior to buying the figure. In fact, just by the look of him, I had assumed he was yet another Spider-Man foe, but as it turns out, he is actually one of the good guys despite his rather monstrous visage.

Thanks to “BMW” comments, I should’ve actually looked at the versions of the Acrylic Box Metallic Ransburg Lightning McQueen from more than 10 feet away. So, here’s the kerfuffle in sequential order.
