Stormbrush's Calvin Chua will be at Comic Fiesta 2014 (Dec 27-28) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - sharing a table with Benjamin Chee (featured) and frankly I am grappling on how to feature his work, which frankly I heart deepdeep but "products"-wise, can only speculate on what he'll be making available - which no doubt will include prints (ooohhhh if his Spawn fanart is available @.@") and his

Make full use of joints with Revoltech R2-D2

Revoltech Star Wars should be a hit. It's hard to believe that Revoltech line has been going for nearly 9 years and this was supposed to be the breath of fresh air that the line needed. However, there are just some things that you want to consider when making this line. One, consider what your line is and two, make sure that said figures fit the line up. When I think of things that need great articulation, I think R2-D2.

Following releases of Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and C-3PO, we're getting the astromech as the newest member of the Revoltech Star Wars line. It's not surprising that the figure would be made, but it just doesn't fit right within the line. Then again, this is the same company that brought us Lightning McQueen as a Revoltech, so this is a step up from that at least.

What's really bothersome about this release is the price. You'll be paying 5,200¥ for a Revoltech R2-D2. That's the same price as the Stormtrooper and Threepio. I can't honestly fathom paying this much for this Artoo. Hell, go buy one of Kotobukiya's statues instead. This is just too ridiculous for me to really recommend for anyone. If you'd like to know when these things start hitting the clearance bin, it should be days after its release date in March.
