Sleepy Hollow: 1/6th scale Ichabod Crane Collectible Figure
DesignerCon 2014: Flat Bonnie
As is her wont, Flat Bonnie's DesignerCon booth featured flat stuffed critters lined up on tiered displays resembling a grassy knoll. I spotted several fan favorites, like Flat Suggie the Sugar Glider and Flat Dusty the Chinchilla, nestled amongst the faux lawn dressings. The big draw were the two con-exclusives, though. The first was the Winter White edition of Sparq the Baby Dragon. This colorway resembled what fans saw in teasers of this character prior to its debut release at San Diego Comic Con 2014. Following in the winter theme, the second exclusive is Jackalope - Frozen edition. I especially liked the Jackalope's forest-y feel, with the little pleather leaves on its arms and horns.
You can find more of Flat Bonnie's darling flatties on her online store.

Kahotan previews a beefcake from Dramatical Murder
With the amount of attention I pay to boobs and (female) butts, it seems only fair that I cover some eye candy for the ladies too. Max Factory's upcoming figure of Ren from Dramatical Murder fits the bill very nicely!
Kahotan's preview shows off two versions of Ren: the cloaked Wonderful Hobby Selection version (dubbed "Rhyme Mode ver.") and a permanently topless "Together, Forever" version. If you're after the abs, you probably won't have any issues with either version. However I'm somewhat miffed by the decision to put out an exclusive WHS version at nearly double the price (something we also saw with Yamato). I feel that the WHS version is the true version of the figure - the one that Max Factory would have sold in the past at a normal price. Maybe economics has made this unfeasible, but there's something bothersome about a stripped down (in both senses) figure for ¥10,000+.
Speaking of pricing, the "Rhyme Mode" variant will be ¥19,800 while the barebones "Together, Forever" version will be ¥10,800. Pre-orders started a couple of weeks ago and are still open if you're interested.

Kotobukiya's cat figure comes with a free catgirl
Got the sneaking suspicion that Kotobukiya has already made a Xiao Mei? Well you'd be correct. But why let a good design go to waste? Kotobukiya will soon be releasing another variant of Shining Blade's Xiao Mei, this time paired with a the black cat Rinrin.
Both are super cute and Xiao Mei's dialed up the fanservice, so I'm sure Shining series fans and Tony Taka enthusiasts won't be disappointed. Akiba Hobby has a preview gallery up of a sample featured in Kotobukiya's museum in Akiba. Pre-orders are still open for US$89.99.

DesignerCon 2014: Scott Tolleson, Lana Crooks, and Carson Catlin
The corner booth at DesignerCon that housed Scott Tolleson, Lana Crooks, and Carson Catlin had a eye-catching combination of plushes and figures, both original and customized. It also had several tantalizing con-exclusives available for purchase to attendees. Scott's Kookie Glo Good (seen in the header) was a special glow-in-the-dark version of his Kookie No Good vinyl toy. Completing the lifecycle of the Deadbeet plush, an artist collaboration between Lana and Scott, is the Beetling, exclusive to DesignerCon.
While Carson did not have an exclusive for sale, his custom figures more than made up for it. He also had blind boxes of some of his Micro-Munny figures. There were even some extra prizes involved, depending on what figure was in your box. It was a really clever idea.

DesignerCon 2014: Jeremiah Ketner
Jeremiah Ketner's latest works were on display at DesignerCon 2014. His style has the same, vibrant-toned fantasy feel we've come to expect, but he's got a few new customs alongside his new illustrations. In particular, I'm digging that Dragon Boy: Jeremiah has done a wonderful job taking Martin Hsu's character and giving him a fairy-tale feel, right down to those big sparkling eyes.
Check out the gallery for photos of his newest works!
