The Amazing Comic Book Graphic Art of Jerry Bennett! #Batman #Joker
I recently went to an awesome Comic Book Convention here where I live, in Oklahoma, where I got to see the wonderful artwork of an Artist named Jerry Bennett. He's a very popular local artist and it was fun to see his art in-person. I mean, I have seen it many times online, but the photos just don't do it justice.
Jerry does freelance work for an Indy Comic Book and Graphic Novel Publishing Company called ENIGMA ENDEAVORS. There, he teams-up with a Writer named Jackson Compton and they have created a line of books titled, NADIR'S ZENITH.
Nadir's Zenith is a compelling Science Fiction-type story where you, the reader, get to follow the adventures of Captain John Nadir, Space Marshal of the Intergalactic Peace Corps (IPC)! Yes, Nadir's Zenith is Space Opera 100 years in the making.
Right now they are working on issue number 4 and the first three issues have done really well. Speaking of Issue number 4, they have started a KICKSTARTER page where you can donate and help them get this book completed, plus you can also receive some exclusive material.
You can purchase these books online in a Digital Format (for Kindle, Apple iPad, Smart Phones and more) at COMIXOLOGY and INDY PLANET. But I prefer actual printed paper books and you can get them at Indy Planet as well. Here's a link for the REAL BOOKS.
OK, Jerry also sells Art Prints of his favorite TV/Comic/Movie characters. The 2 images at the very top of this post show some of his BATMAN and JOKER ones he has done. These prints measure 11" X 17" and are very high quality. He sells them for $16.00 each and that price includes shipping! The cool thing is that you can order them online, which is perfect for people who don't live near here. For orders outside the USA you'll need to contact him for a special price.
You can get these BATMAN and JOKER Art Prints by contacting him directly at his personal e-mail address:

One last thing, if you are a Facebook member then please be sure to visit their Official NADIR'S ZENITH page and/or the ENIGMA ENDEAVORS page. Jerry Bennett is also on TWITTER.

Max Factory sneaks in a box full of figma Solid Snake details and photos
Metal Gear fans are finally getting the Solid Snake figure they've waited nearly 30 years for. Sure, there have been other Snake action figures, but figma Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 2 is certainly aiming to be the best. The figma style of super articulation wouldn't be enough for Max Factory. Oh no. They've aimed to make a Solid Snake that can do just about everything he can do in the games.
Starting from the head this figure will feature the rarely seen figma eye articulation allowing Snake to have his eyes pointed in any direction, perfect for looking around corners or down the sights of a gun. He'll have two expressions, either a stoic expression that can be used any number of ways with the eye articulation, or another with his teeth grit for really turning up the intensity (but doesn't have eye articulation). He also has a hidden flap in his hair that allows him to extend the range of his neck and lift his head up further, ideal for army crawling or sniping.
Moving down the line he comes with a few specialized hands for gun gripping. One of the hands has a finger shaped for wrapping around the trigger, but the other lets him rest his finger on the side of the gun. He also has a special hand holding a cigarette for a little downtime. But the most interesting is a pair of hands specially made to allow him to hang from edges by his fingertips!
For weapons he'll come with a tranquilizer gun and an assault rifle complete with muzzle flash effect part. Of course he wouldn't be nearly complete without a cardboard (or in this case heavy paper) box to hide inside! But that's not all, when pre-orders open in Japan Friday (effectively Thursday night in North America) the Good Smile online shop will have an exclusive release featuring a second handgun with removable silencer and, best of all, a reproduction of the actual figma box used to ship these figures to stores! That's got to be the best figma exclusive yet.
Unfortunately they've stopped short of telling us exactly how big he'll be and his price, but they've clearly left us a lot to look forward to when he's released in May. In the meanwhile checkout the gallery and take a look at our exclusive close-up looks at the prototype from New York Comic Con 2014.

Staying Safe While Playing Fall Sports #AflacSweeps
Our daughters play sports, between dancing hours each day to tumbling too I want to be sure that no matter what they are doing they are doing it safely. Baseball is often referred to as “America’s favorite past time,” but many believe that football is America’s game. The Super Bowl is the biggest sports event… [read more]

Get ready for a change with GSC's Satsuki Kiryuin: Senketsu Ver.
Good Smile Company is no stranger to the world of garage kits, be it making them or repurposing them into amazing scale figures. In this case it's the later when they reproduce Sakurako Iwanaga's super detailed garage kit take on Satsuki Kiryuin of Kill la Kill wearing Senketsu as a finished 1/8 scale figure. The original garage kit was announced back in June and GSC announced their version in July so you know this is something they're excited about. The mass retail release features all the same great sculpting and paint as Iwanaga's finished sample, but also includes a new rubble base for her to stand on.
It's a different take on Satsuki being a little more detailed and slightly more realistic than how she's seen in the anime. I like the simple pose because it works for her and she still looks like she could hurt you easily. I know some people take exception to the face, but I really like it and think it adds to the overall look with her flowing hair and rippling skirt. It's a beautiful figure, maybe even my favorite for the series.
You're still going to have to wait a little over half a year to get your hands on one of your own as she wont be out until June 2015, but you can pre-order one now for ¥10,000.
