DST to not only attend NYCC, but also giving away Ghostbusters promotional Minimate at the show
Diamond Select Toys has announced its NYCC plans which will consist of the usual booth, two panels, signings, giveaways, and FREEBIES!
DST's free promo items this time around will include a promotional Ghostbusters Minimate. This green Minimate with the Ghostbusters logo will be given free to whoever stops by the DST booth (#1736) and asks for it, although only a limited number will be given out each day (so come early!). Throughout the weekend, DST will also give out free full-size posters featuring their original Aliens, Ghostbusters, and Marvel Minimates artwork (see gallery). Times will be chosen at random, and once put out they tend to go fast, so check back regularly.
Not enough freebies for your tastes? Try hitting up either panel, as both will feature a giveaway. The first, "Diamond Select Toys: The Best of All Worlds," will take place on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5:00 in Room 1A18. The panel will feature DST president Chuck Terceira and sculptor Eli Livingston who will talk about upcoming products, give away some prizes, and announce a new toy line (although we've heard that "new line" talk before).
The second panel, "Minimates MiniFigures: From Marvel to Clerks to TMNT!", will take on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4:15 in Room 1A24. The panel will discuss upcoming Minimates releases, give away some more prizes, and unveil the next Marvel Minimates assortment. The speakers will include Minimates product manager Robert Yee, designer Uriel Caton, and Chuck Terceira (interestingly enough, Zach Oat isn't listed on either panel although I'd assume he'd be there).
Not exciting enough for you? Well, spend US$18 on Minimates purchases at the show and you'll receive a ticket to the Minimates building station where you can create your own Minimate from the assorted parts and take it home with you.
Be sure to check out the images in the gallery (which includes some of the free posters) and the full schedule after the jump.
