It took long enough, but Takara Tomy has finally given us all of the details we've been begging for over the last few months. Transformers Masterpiece Star Saber has finally been officially designated number MP-24 in the line, right behind the newly announced Decepticon Exhaust. They've also finally given him a release date of March 2015 which feels a little late. I was thinking more like January or February, but I guess Takara Tomy wanted to give us a break right after releasing Ultra Magnus in December.
Lastly they finally gave us a price, and it's a good one. MP Star Saber will only set you back ¥18,000, right at the same price as Magnus. It's a lot of money, sure, but compared to Optimus Prime at ¥22,000 it's not so bad for basically three figures in one. I was really thinking this would be closer ¥20,000 so I'm happy. Exporters will likely be pushing him out at around $15,000 so everyone wins.
Over on Twitter, TFYuki passed along more photos of the prototype giving us our first look at MP Star Saber side-by-side with the the original G1 figure. The original figure stands at about a foot tall and the MP towers over it so we're in for one large bot! He also took a very impressive shot of Star Saber holding his sword down in both hands in front of him with his shoulders pulled forward. Looks like the articulation is going to be even more advanced than previously thought.
Hopefully we'll finally see pre-orders open soon because I'm pretty anxious to get this figure in my hands. Finally.

To celebrate its release this week, the Good Smile Company Lab blog took a quick overview of the new Nendoroid More Cube #01 set. Designed to recreate the interior of your average Japanese classroom, the set comes with a blackboard backdrop, desks, lockers, book and even a charming Nendoroid-sized computer.
The preview is full of charm, roping in school-themed Nendoroids like Chitoge and Ryuko and Mako to show everything off. As ever from GSC the level of detail is wonderful, from the opening lockers to the clearly printed book spines. It's a cute little diorama that's ideal for some photo ops, and at just ¥1,512 it won't break the bank either.

Funko has fleshed out its cast of Thor movie Pop! figures with Odin, Lady Sif, and Heimdall (one brotha in all of Asgard and he's the doorman? Racist much, Marvel movies?) as well as a new helmeted Loki, all of which are currently available for pre-order.
Although the whole set is pretty cute, I think that I'm most impressed by the Odin who, despite his miniature proportions, still looks pretty tough. Lady Sif, who sports a thinner body mold, is also a really neat-looking Pop! figure.
The wave is apparently slated to hit retailers in September and should retail for around US$10. No word as to when I'll see Thor: The Dark World which still hasn't appeared on NFI.
