Not a hoax and not a dream; figma Archer is really being released. In fact you may have already received your payment request for your pre-order. I fully expected months of delays, especially when it was realized it would be released before Saber 2.0. But no, after years of disappointment there is finally a figma Archer available that people can actually buy and put in their collections. Yay! Thanks to the larger 2.0 scale he's a pretty big figure and I can't wait to see how it compares to the old Rin Tousaka figma, the only retail Fate figma missing from my collection (why wasn't she reissued, darnit?). I suppose the better question is how does Saber 2.0 look with figma Shirou?
Anyway, back to the gallery. The Max Factory/figma (and occasional beer) blog updated with new photos of figma Archer. Archer has an interesting extension on his stand that allows it a little distance from his coat tails. Seems a bit cumbersome without a joint at the end, but we'll soon find out. Sculpting continues to look great and the weapon details appear to be flawless.
figma Archer (at least the original prototype) was first announced back at Wonder Festival 2010 Winter some four-and-a-half years ago. Was it worth the wait? I sure think so, what do you think?
