This self-directed project was a response to the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot in Vancouver. I remember listening to the radio coverage of the original riot in Vancouver in 1994. I attempted to mash up that disconnected nostalgia with images from the 2011 riot.

Sideshow's Metal Gear Rex pre-orders begin Friday
As was briefly mentioned when the Bambaland orders were being taken for ThreeA's Metal Gear Rex, Sideshow Collectibles was going to be selling him as well. Well, if you didn't get him last time, here's your second chance: Sideshow's orders are going up Friday, March 9 (that's tomorrow). It's the exact same 1/48-scale Rex you could have bought last week, complete with Snake figure for the pilot's seat, and there's no indication of how many Sideshow will have in stock.
If you'd like to pick him up, expect to pay US$489.99 with a US$49 deposit required. FlexPay options are available like other Sideshow distributed products. If you missed him before, are you going to pick him up the second time around?

Custom Delights: The Yellow Dino's custom Mickey
The Yellow Dino has sent us some photos of his latest custom, a piece for the upcoming Play Imaginative and Disney event this year. Taking the Mickey Mouse vinyl figure from Play Imaginative, Dino's put his own little twist on it, dressing up one of his characters in Mickey garb. I quite like the look and I think it's awfully cute!
Check out the gallery for more photos of this custom, and let us know in the comments if you like it? I'm sure at least a few of our editors on staff will besides myself. Not to name names or anything, Natalie, Kris and Rio ...
