Of all the convention souvenirs we attendees received, one of my favorites was "Coney Island Cutie." This fashion consisted of a big, wonderful flowered straw hat, earrings, shoes, a reversible top, shorts, a reversible skirt and a very short reversible skirt (not shown.)

There are, in fact, several other pieces but they were an optional purchase.
This is a photo by Jeff Lega but he shows a different hat.  It's labeled "Gal About Town."

I took these pictures at the event.

The extra pieces will be the handbag, sweater, cropped pants, coat, slim skirt, long skirt, sash/belt, necklace...I think. The sweater doesn't look very appealing as the shoulders are too wide but the rest of the items look cute.

Something new, an all-plastic 1:55 release (not diecast metal) in a box called Race to the Rescue Play Pack. Looks cute. The log actually seems like the best thing – it splits open and the flames protrude. The plastic Maru hooks up the wagon but neither of the diecast releases of Maru work with this […]

"Raymond's So Sad!" is one of the members of our "Clown Series" of cloth dolls. They are a fun loving group of various kinds of clown dolls that love to have fun. Love to laugh. And, most of all love to make you laugh. In fact, they're willing to try anything to bring a smile to your face. They'll make fun of themselves. Fall down. Run around. Bump into each other. Even pretend to slap each other - all in the name of "good" fun. They love to laugh. They love to have fun. But, most of all they love making you laugh. They are all so confident that they can make you laugh that they even have a contest going - to see which clown can make you laugh the most. The winner gets a FREE trip to Clown College.

"Raymond's So Sad!" is a 15" primitive clown cloth doll. He has a wide body and long skinny arms and legs. His body is made of muslin and his face is embroidered with black satin stitched and white water colored eyes , embroidered nose with gold water coloring, and embroidered mouth with green water coloring. His eyelashes are embroidered and his eyebrows are embroidered and dark gray water colored. His cheeks are rosy and blushed.

Raymond has a mass of thick, dark gray braided yarn hair on the sides of his head with the back left bald. He is wearing his favorite coordinated clown hat on the back of his head. He is wearing his favorite coordinated green clown outfit. His green checkered shirt has a solid color center band decorated down the sides with velvet ribbon trim. It has a coordinating and gathered ruffle along the bottom and is gathered at the neck. His favorite fringed scarf is wrapped loosely around his neck and tied in a knot in the front. It coordinates perfectly with the ruffle band of his short. He has a green ribbon bow just under his chin. He is also wearing his favorite green checkered pants. His pants are a little short and gathered at the waist. His big, black boots are cross-laced and fit his big feet perfectly.

"Raymond's So Sad!" is hoping to win the class at Clown College. While he knows he's funny he just feels he needs a refresher course. He just wants to be even better and and up on all the latest in "clown trends." Especially the latest in designing clown websites. You see - he wants to start his own "Raymond's So Sad!" website. Think of all the possibilities and how many people he could get laughing then. Raymond is determined to win and do everything he can to make sure he does. But, if he does not win - he has another plan in mind. He just has to learn how to create his own clown website.

Ever since it was announced last November, I've been chomping at the bit to know more about Soul of Chogokin GaoGaiGar. Who wouldn't be eager to see more of one of the all-time great super robots joining the undoubted king of mecha figure lines? Now, thanks to a fresh scan, we've got a few more juicy details.

Firstly, we've got a bunch of nice full colour pictures. There's pretty clear confirmation on a couple of things. Firstly, GaoGaiGar will indeed split into its component parts - GaiGar, LinerGao, StealthGao and DrillGao are all present and correct. Furthermore, GaiGar will also be able to transform into its lion form, Galeon, and of course the four will combine to form the main robot. That's a damn impressive bit of toy engineering considering how much cheating the original anime had to do to make that happen.

The second bit of pertinent news is a bit less cheery, and it's the price. There's no real way to cushion this blow, so let's just put it out there - THIRTY TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED YEN. That's...a lot of money! Even by Soul of Chogokin standards it's on the high end. You don't have that much time to save up either, as GaoGaiGar will be crushing evil this December. Naturally, we'll bring you news about pre-orders, immediately after we've openly wept at our bank accounts.

Figuarts Zero Sailor Mars is about ready to go up for pre-order in Japan, with reservations for the Tamashii Shop-exclusive figure starting at 4 p.m. Japan Standard Time (or about 13 hours from this post). Shipping out in February 2015, she's of the same scale as the other three senshi (Moon, Mercury and Venus) and will come with plenty of translucent fire effects. The only thing I'm not a fan of (and I've seen other collectors mention this too) is that Mars' pose is very identical to Sailor Mercury's. It's a bit of a disappointmeny, especially since Venus and Moon got their own individual poses.

Still, if you are a completionist and must have her, Mars is in the Tamashii Shop for ¥8800. Of course, you can either choose to grab her from a proxy dealer like Big in Japan right now ... or wait a few months to see if Bluefin ends up bringing her to North America. I don't have any inside info on that ... but my gut feeling is she'll show up here, too.
