UK company Paladone has posted their online catalog of Transformers related products, and some of them are pretty neat. From a squishy stress-relief Bumblebee to an Optimus Prime egg cup to foamboard 3D puzzles of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee that look as though they might transform, the items are more creative than many licenced goods. Keep reading for some sample images and a link!
Butting in on his movie counterpart's corpse-wearin' ways, Hot Toys Optimus Prime Starscream Version is a slick, nontransforming figure of G1 Prime by the company responsible for all the pretty Iron Man figures most of us will never own. Sideshow Collectibles, official distributor of Hot Toys in the US, has posted images of the figure, which is due in July 2015 with an SRP of $345. Keep reading for the photos and start saving up now!
Vamplets was celebrating a recent Kickstarter success at San Diego Comic-Con and their booth was fittingly decked out with gothic theming. The success in question was, of course, their campaign for the production of the Undead Baby Dragon and trio of Bitemares, all of which were available for purchase at the con. The Ghost Pony's saddle, another part of the Kickstarter campaign, was also in stock. I can't tell you how darling these plushes are. They are so much fun and more than a little quirky. The details, like the Undead Baby Dragon's bone bell necklace, show how much love and thought went into the designs. Attendees wanting to delve deeper into the characters' world had a chance to purchase not only the Vamplets comics (including a special, limited edition of Book Two) but also The Undead Pet Society spin-off, a Kickstarter exclusive.
Check out the gallery to see more of Vamplets' SDCC offerings!
Most of the pieces in Radiation Rocket Leader actually come from the Skrull Warrior mold we got in the comic-inspired segment of figures from the Avengers line

First, let's address the obvious "elephant in the room" - my fellow toy-collecting friend Marcus asked on my FB (when I posted a quick IG of the figure): "was it worth the wait?", to which my reply was: "I had actually forgotten about this, so couldn't say I waited for it hahahaha but what I can say is, when I first bought it online, I had cash ... then afters I went nearly broke, and felt this
NARUTO from “NARUTO SHIPPUDEN” recreated as a high quality 1/6-statue. RAIDEN, the enormously popular central character from the mega hit action game “Metal Gear Rising Revengence,” is recreated as a PVC statue. The heroic pose, grabbing a “SELF REPAIR UNIT” extracted (“ZANDATSU KILL”) from the enemy cyborg soldier in his left hand, and his HF blade in the right, highlights the best part of Akao’s technique. The statue features a well-balanced & beautiful muscular body which also illustrates his outstanding skill. The highly detailed mechanical designs of the weapons and overlapping armor are digitally sculpted by Akao’s brother. This is their first collaboration. The eye glows red with a mounted LED in the head. The closed visor for battle mode is available with optional parts. The “HF MURASAMA BLADE” left by his worthy rival, Jet stream Sam, is interchangeable in his right hand, and the scabbard in his left hand. As for the cyborg soldier lying at his feet, shows not only the abject cut surface of the body, but also “the expression of the dying arm” trying to say something. This masterpiece thoroughly supervised by Yoji Shinkawa (the art director of Kojima Production) is the most “pictorial” and “beautiful” RAIDEN ever. Height: Approximately 32cm height Material: PVC/ABS Packing Size: 380mm X 250mm X160mm Toywiz and Toy Garden will be taking preorder now for this Sentinel Sixth Scale PVC figure for RM699 and estimated arrival date is Jan/Feb 2015.

It’s unclear when the first case for 21015, the Q case, will be out … November 2014? … as the norm when the typical motif changes to the next one or will it be after Christmas? It looks like the general “themes” concept won’t change as the product codes for singles for 2015 does not […]

I don't know if you remember the article I posted several years ago entitled "The Story Behind My Celia's Wedding Dress Doll" that was part of my "The Story Behind My Dolls" series.
To remind you, Celia and Elmer are my sister-in-laws parents and have been married for close to 60 years. Several years ago they were having a yard sale and Celia had told me I could have her wedding dress to use for material.
I asked her if she was really going to throw her wedding dress away and she replied, "What am I going to do with that old thing?" I told her maybe she should make a doll out of it for her daughter. At first she scoffed at the idea. Then when she'd thought about it, she replied,"That's a great idea. Why don't you do that for me and give it to my daughter." So, I told her I would add it to my to-do-list which was already getting to be multiple years to complete. I put it on the back burner.
After several years of being on the back burner I finally designed the doll and gave it to my sister-in-law for Christmas one year.
In designing the doll I wanted to capture the beauty of the dress. It didn't matter to me whether or not the doll had a face or was faceless. The point was the dress.
So, I sketched out a pattern for the dress and tried to use as much of the original material as I could. Luckily, the dress was still in pretty good shape, as was the veil. Some of the tulle had disintegrated but, a lot of it was pretty much in tact.
The dress had a lace bodice insert with lace sleeves, a satin heart-shaped bodice, a satin covered with lace front panel, and satin covered with fine tulle flowing skirt. The back of the dress had a very long train covered with tulle. There were buttons all along the front of the dress as well as straight up the back. The veil was a cap lined with small pearl beads that had a long section of tulle that would hang down the back and compliment the tulle on the train. The sleeves were scalloped and had a row of buttons as well. There were two layers of tulle underneath the dress as well. Needless to say there was a lot of tulle and a lot of detail on Celia's wedding dress.
Keeping in mind that the sentimentality lay with the dress I wanted the dress to be the focal point of the doll and nothing else. So I decided to make her a self standing, 14" tall, bridal stump doll without any legs. That way the dress would be showcased. I also wanted to utilize the original buttons for their sentimentality even though they were too big for the doll. I decided that three buttons in the front and two on each sleeve would be good.
When the doll was finished I wasn't really happy with her. I thought that I had captured the essence of the dress and, with the exception of the neck, it looked like Celia's real wedding dress. Plus for sentimental purposes it had the original buttons on it. But, I wasn't happy with the doll itself. Her face wasn't quite right, and, whether I liked it or not, the collar was too big.
Over the years every time I looked at the doll I was unhappy with her face. So, last week I decided to re-do her face and revise her pattern.
She has a long lace, satin, and tulle covered multiple 6-panel dress with a lace covered center front panel and tulle covered side, back, and train panels. A beautiful heart-shaped lace bodice with high lace covered neckline is embroidered with fancy lace trim and three lace covered buttons. Her dress has a beautiful long tulle covered flowing train and fancy lace trim adorns her waistline.
Lace covered puffed and lace trimmed long v-pointed sleeves are adorned with lace covered buttons. Pearl trim adorns both the neck line of the dress as well as the veil. A trio of lovely ribbon bows add charm to the top of the train at the back of the dress. Underneath her gown she is wearing a lace trimmed slip, under-slip, and tulle underskirt. She has fiery red hair adorned with a lace lined veil with flowing tulle.

Fo' Chisel, a wooden and resin DIY figure from by UK-based designer Nicky Lewis, has just been released to the public for purchase. The 6-inch figure design's pretty simple: a cube-shaped head, along with a round body and arms that have shoulder articulation. Still, artists like Jon-Paul Kaiser, A Little Stranger and Planet Domu have made some interesting customs on the platform already, which you can check out in the gallery.
If you like one, you can find the wodden Fo' Chisel for £40 and the resin Chisel for £14 in the Fo' Chisel shop. What's your thoughts on Fo' Chisel, Tomopop readers?
