If ever there was unusual cluster of wood-crafts it would have to be the Candleweeds Family. There's Will, Larry, Bill, Harry, Barry, and Phil.

Phil is the baby of the Candleweed Family.  He was born premature and, as a result, his older brothers are very protective of him.  If he needs to go somewhere there is always a sibling willing to take him.   However, sometimes Phil would just rather be alone.

He's made from a 3" upside down wood candle cup holder with a painted head and part drawn, part painted face.  He has a fringed scarf wrapped around his neck and a straight blond hair.

If ever there was a "wild and crazy" bunch of dolls it would have to be the "Stick'em and Collect'em Series" of wood stick doll ornaments.

They love to be collected and can will fit in with any primitive, country, Victorian, shabby/chic, or vintage home decor.

They just love to hang out with each other.

    Stick'em and collect'em. They'll fit right in.

"Sammy, Stick'em & Collect'em" is a 7" wood stick doll ornament. She has a painted and outlined wood body, painted and blushed face, and a mass of curly doll hair.

Her dress is fringed and gathered at the neck edge. She has gathered lace trim around her neck and a lace waistband.

"Sammy, Stick'em & Collect'em" is the most inquisitive of the stick dolls.  She's always wondering why this or why that.  So much so that it drives the other stick dolls crazy.  She's probably got a question for you.

If ever there was unusual cluster of wood-crafts it would have to be the Candleweeds Family. There's Will, Larry, Bill, Harry, Barry, and Phil.

Will is the eldest of the group of siblings and considers himself to be the nicest, kindest, and smartest of the group.  The rest of his siblings would disagree with him I'm sure.

He's made from a 3" upside down wood candle cup holder with a painted head and part drawn, part painted face.  He has a fringed scarf wrapped around his neck and a full head of brown curly hair.

Lucy is not only the most adorable of our angels, she is also one of the smallest. She only stands 4" tall, but she is a mighty angel. In fact, Lucy is the "boss" of all the angels. She assigns the tasks to the various other angels and keeps an eye out for them. Despite her small size Lucy has a HUGE heart.

Lucy Angel is an adorable little angel. She is a free-standing angel doll with a wood doll pin body and head. Her wood head is painted and she has short curly hair and a halo. Her dress is made from wide wired ribbon and is decorated with a ribbon sash, and floral ribbon decoration.

With the new images from Takara Tomy's site, we get another chance to "ooh" and "aah" over Sentinel's Mega Drive Megatron. Andres posted the pre-order information last May and I totally share in his excitement. As previously mentioned, the transforming blast-from-the-console-past will cost ¥10,000 and ship this September. But thanks to the site's update, we now have even more information! The Mega Drive Megatron will have a removable miniature cartridge of Sonic the Hedgehog in its slot. How is that for a big dose of nostalgia? The cartridge's label looks absolutely perfect, too. In fact, the whole darn robot looks magnificent.

Share in our excitement with these new photos in the gallery!

So often do collectors, especially toy news journalists (a term that I'll be infrequently promoting), focus almost exclusively on current or upcoming product. We often forget all about awesome products that came out even a few years ago and may no longer be available.

Case in point? I recently went through my cell phone's photos and found some old images of Lemax's 2011 Spooky Town items which included the Michael's-exclusive Octo-Swing. Like Lemax's Octo-Squeeze, the Octo-Swing is an octopus-themed amusement ride that features both movement and sound (actually the SAME soundtrack as the Squeeze). However, the Octo-Swing differs from the previous ride in giving the octopus a more passive role (just sitting on top), adding (optional?) lighting for the octopus, and, best of all, uses bathyspheres to hold the riders.

Not as spooky as the Octo-Squeeze? Sure. However, it has a lot of its own charm. Be sure to check out videos of this thing in action after the jump.

Last week, among the stories we reported on from Transformers Expo 2014 was the custom sticker set that turns a clear red and black EZ Collection/Legends Optimus Prime into Nemesis Prime. Kinda. Today, Autobase Aichi has posted full scans of that giveaway comic along with high-quality package-art-style Yokohama Decepticons logo. The comic has it all, from Beast Wars Megatron to Dr. Arkeville to Dark Energon. Keep reading to see!

  • 08/17/14--08:32: Plane, Boat or Drone?
  • Drones have been in the news a lot lately in the US. And I don’t mean the large, lethal military drones that operate in war zones, but the small Phantoms, Parrots and similar quadcopters favored by many hobbyists and independent commercial photographers and videographers. Weighing a couple of pounds or less with a maximum speed […]
