FREEing is releasing the Super Sonico: Yukata Version 1/8 Scale PVC Figure (すーぱーそにこ ゆかたVer.). Super Sonico, the vocalist and guitarist in the girl’s band ‘Daiichi Uchuu Sokudo‘, is the first figure in this new series from FREEing. Sideshow Collectibles is releasing the Vampirella Premium Format Figure and it is currently available for pre-order. The Vampirella statue stands 25 inches tall and weighs in at 12 pounds. It comes in two versions, Regular and Exclusive. The Exclusive version depicts her hand releasing a bat into the night whereas the Regular version only shows her hand outstretched sans bat. Based on the pictures, she looks gorgeous from all angles while wearing her classic costume. This is an extremely sexy figure. Right now, both versions are available for pre-order for $399.99. Lulubell Toys' SDCC booth was filled with its usual menagerie of sofubi and resin figures from Japan and other parts of the world, ranging from Grody Shogun's latest work to Reflect's well-sculpted Neo Japan figure. There was also a Young Gohst exclusive for SDCC at the booth and plenty of custom-painted sofubi one-offs to check out, too.
Two new figures were in display, though: one of them was Miscreation Toys' 15-inch Iron Monster sofubi figure. The other was a new piece from Colus called Impundulu, a resin figure that looks rather slick (in part thanks to its glossy black finish). Impundulu is set to release this fall at Lulubell and other retailers; what do you think of it?

3D Retro's SDCC booth played home to a wide variety of vinyl creations, including Nathan Hamill's Mickey Mouse-colored Lavabear variant, Nathan Ota's Suited Birdies, and Gary Baseman's The Wild Girls and Chou Chous. It was my first time getting to see many of them in person, and beyond the obvious (that they're quite colorful and cast well), I have to say the Suited Birdies caught my attention. The SDCC variant on display didn't have the eyes filled in, which made him look a little more undead, but it's still a fairly fun piece to see on display.
Also at the booth this year were Neil Winn's unique monster sculptures like Scratch, Wuga and Bubbles. Check them out in the gallery, and you can click on the link above to pick up one from his shop!
