Playmates' SDCC exclusive is an original design Raphael
When Playmates shows up at a convention, they're almost certainly there to talk Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, their most high-profile line in the past few years. It also goes without saying that they show up with a convention exclusive figure, and SDCC is not an exception. Their convention exclusive this year is a Raphael based on the original 1984 designs by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, right down to the black-and-white coloring scheme. Of course, he'll come with his sais, as well as a manhole cover base, and will be available at Nickelodeon's booth during the convention.
They'll also be hosting a panel at SDCC on July 25 at 2 p.m. Pacific, where they'll be talking Turtles and showing off sneak peeks at future TMNT figures.

Painted Bishoujo Jubilee is here for to continue the fireworks show
Wasn't it just yesterday that we finally got to see the prototype sculpt for Jubilee? Oh yes, it was. In what was just a day, we now have pictures of the painted version and it's pretty much you wanted. Minus sparklers.
I think this turned out just about as good as it could get. The only thing that's slightly disappointing is that there aren't any fireworks shooting from her hands like the sketch had them. Then again, considering how Storm's turned out, I'm kind of okay with that. Back to positives though, which appear to be pretty much everything. There's not a single flaw I can find here and I can't wait until January 2015 is here. Hell, I'll even commit now to buying the inevitable limited long coat convention exclusive version.
You've done well, Shunya. This makes up for Ghostbusters and MIB, I can forgive you now.

Tomopop Review: Kotobukiya's Honda Futayo
One thing which has always bemused me is why a show like Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon has not received more figures than it has, given its ridiculously large cast of characters. Early releases focused on Horizon and we've had a few releases of Asama Tomo, but other than a beach queen figure of Mitotsudaira, and the occasional prize figure, that has been it. And the figures have been a little lacklustre. Tomo never seemed to pose like her character should, and one of the bigger Horizon releases was done by Volks, who have not got the best reputation when it comes to their PVC releases (their resin kit and doll releases are without peer though).
So, we were really lacking in Horizon figures - That is, until Kotobukiya stepped in. Their first release is Honda Futayo, the honourable air-headed duelist warrior of the group, and one third of the busty trio (the other two being Tomo and Aoi Kimi).
She steps into an arena which is honestly lacking any major competition, but that doesn't mean that she can slack off. So, does the Kotobukiya figure hold up to scrutiny? Only one way to find out.
Let's get it on!!

75th ANNIVERSARY OF BATMAN - New Cover for the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #44
Hey Kids, the brand-new 2014-2015 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide will be debut at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) next week and this year's cover story and design is based on the "75 Years of Batman" theme. I mean, how could it not? Batman is one of the most popular comic book superheroes.... ever!
He might be considered by some to be THE most important. Anyways, the cover should remind us all of the vintage Saturday Evening Post magazine covers. It's really great! Oh yeah, the art was done by J.G. Jones.
