Bandai of America goes full-on Tommy love with SDCC exclusives
If you remember last year, Bandai of America had some exclusives that people really wanted, only to have them available at SDCC. While the item did eventually get a standard release, it took some time. For 2014, it looks like they've done it again, all the while milking all the Tommy nostalgia you can handle.
The marquee item for this year is a gold-plated and colored Dragon Dagger. You'll know my love of the item from Tomocast, but the all gold finish here looks really cheesy. Granted, if you paint something gold, people will flock to it like a Spanish conquistador. There will be only a thousand of these, as the others were devastated by smallpox. Also featuring the Tommy love is a vinyl figure of the Green Ranger. It features the same template as their previous vinyl figs, just this time it's Tommy. Just as with the dagger, it too will be limited to 1,000 pieces.
Lastly, the set of MMPR Ranger Keys for Super Megaforce will finally be released. Mind you, they have been available in stores, minus the female pink and yellow keys. As usual here, if you want the actual complete team, you have to get the SDCC exclusive. The Red Ranger adds in an exclusive sound, but the appeal to these is the inclusion of the Pink and Yellow Ranger keys. These are even more limited, with only 700 being made available.
If there's a company that can ruin the fun and appeal of convention exclusives, it's Bandai of America.

Watch LSP get all crazy in the preview clip above. I’m pretty sure I’d get kicked out of the Breakfast Kingdom because breakfast is my favorite food group and I’d just eat all the citizens along with their delicious-looking bacon carpets.

Tomica Transformers Q Series To Release G1 and Age of Extinction Die-Cast Cars - Rodimus, Lambor, Fairlady Z Prowl
Japanese retail site Mameg Yorai have posted pre-order listings for a two waves of the Tomica Transformers Queue Series die-cast cars that will be released in November and December of 2014. These cars have often been released to support current TV shows and movies, but this time Tomica may be offering Age of Extinction along with some G1 throwback listings for an 86 Rodimus, Fairlady Z Prowl, and Countach Lambor. It is not sure if these are repaints of the AOE cars or all new molds. Read on for the complete list.

Build and Customize a Super-Secret Base and Share It with the World!
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire players will be able to create their very own Secret Base, a customizable area that will allow them to show off their individuality by setting up mazes or traps for visitors to encounter, and even creating Pokémon battle rules, transforming their Secret Base into their own Pokémon Gym!
Players will be able to share their Secret Base with other Trainers around the world using StreetPass functionality, or they can create a QR Code for their unique Secret Base, enabling friends to visit it with ease. When visiting other Secret Bases, players can meet other Trainers in the same base and invite them back to their own Secret Base as Secret Pals. Players can interact and battle with Secret Pals, who have special skills that can support players in their adventures, such as sharing new Decorations, making a Pokémon Egg hatch faster, or raising the level of a select Pokémon by one. The more Secret Pals players have in their Secret Base, the more special skills will be available to help them in their adventures.
Players can also capture flags while visiting other players’ Secret Bases. Flags are located beside the Secret PC in each Secret Base. The more flags a player collects, the higher the rank earned, which brings rewards like improving the skills of a player’s Secret Pals.

Build-A-Bear adds TMNT plushies to its offerings
Build-A-Bear, a company once known for its customizable bears prior to diversifying its offerings, is once again expanding into new areas with a line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collectibles which go on sale at retail outlets and online starting this Friday.
The selection includes the four turtles, their weapons (sold separately because, well, Build-a-Bear...), a Shredder costume that for the normal bears, as well as some turtle-themed accessories which also seem more geared towards the normal bears.
While the designs are really cute, Build-A-Bear's prices and I have never managed to get along. The individual (ie, weaponless) Turtles retail for US$25 each with their optional weapons costing an additional US$10.
